Lipstick

While on the subject of lipstick this story came to mind. I have heard it before.
The actual contents of this link are upsetting but it is an interesting story.

In brief it is about the delivery by the Red Cross, of a large quantity of lipstick to Bergen -Belsen concentration camp shortly after it was liberated.

Just reflecting on why I joined GN and why I so enjoy it

Golden that happens so much , you get a colour then , kerplunk they discontinue it .
Still I have a little "STASH" of one particular favourite , Bourjois , I find their products very good .
The good thing though is I was down town this afternoon and "looking" and there is a colour nigh on the same !

That's the trouble I have Deeda. You like something, use it ad nauseam and then Boom! it's not longer available. That's happened to me a fair bit and it's a not very nice way of getting us to part with our cash methinks.
I used to love 'Y' by Yves St Laurent and that disappeared off the planet until a websearch uncovered some - and they smelt the same and didn't turn my skin bright green or anything. I'm now searching for another 'me' fragrance.

I've got a very nice MAC lipstick in a brownish red. It's a matt finish and a bit darker than my natural lip colour. Sadly I can't remember the name of it and I'm sure that when it runs out I will find it's been discontinued.

Having trouble imagining your or indeed anybody's pip adorned with lippy but I think nightowl might be there before me.

Of course My real favourite is Bourjois "Pamplemousse" . But surprise , surprise they have stopped doing it .

I can't wear dark lipsticks, they just don't suit me.
I'm using Clinique Longlast Glosswear at the moment, it is supposed to make your lips look fuller than they really are. I think it does this by making them so sticky that they don't sort of fall in in quite the same way when your mouth is at rest
The colour ("Fireberry") is a bit darker than my natural colour, so combined with the glossy effect it looks slightly better than au naturel without being too much for the rest of my face.

I have plenty of them, but usually forget to put one on. I prefer a light coral colour, if I do wear it. Red would make the rest of my face fade away by contrast.

I only occasionally wear lipstick, and then a fairly neutral shade, which I then completely forget to re-do. Red seems a very harsh shade.

I must admit that when I look at some of the trout pouts worn by many celebrities I can't help thinking of Desmond Morris and baboons. Wearing a vulva on your face is NOT a good look in my opinion.

I must admit I also have a large collection !!

Lipfinity working well for me at the moment and I use a mid pink shade most of the time as I suit the colour,I must confess to having a very large stock of lipsticks in every make I don't feel as though I am treating myself if I don't come back from a shopping trip without one

I don't think I'll be looking at lipsticks in quite the same way again!!! Soutra but I will take the suggestions on board re: types that last. I shall enjoy scaring people

I have never felt the same about lippy since reading The Naked Ape - baboons (and other primates with brightly colured genitals ) eat your heart out.

I think some of the dyes they used years ago were a lot more permanent, but probably not very good for you.

I am currently using Estée rubelite lasting shimmer (when I bother, which isn't often)

I don"t use a bright "RED" as such it is slighty more corrally , which suits my skin tone .
I have to say though I have bought cheaper lipsticks , i.e £1 a time but it is a truisim you get what you pay for . They don"t last , suppose the more expensive use finer quality ingredients !!!
Still heyho I still like my BRIGHT lipsticks at this TIME of year !
