I only wear skirts in extremely hot weather - so that means, not often in the UK. It has to be about 32C before I can be tempted into a skirt or dress. I own them, I have very nice ones, I just hate wearing them. I worry about them blowing up into the air, getting stuck in the back of my knickers, riding up because of my shouderbag, getting creased at the back, needing ironing, I have dreadful knees and never feel I can wear one for two days running as I can with a pair of trousers. I always end up altering them as I have either small waist to hip, or fat hip to waist, ratio. In the winter I always used to wear them with thick woolly tights with a normal pair underneath, I always felt so cold in them.
So why do I own so many? I don't think I have ever thought it out before. I love the idea of wearing them, I suppose. I have started to wear many of my winter dresses over slim-cut trousers over the past couple of years. I have shortened some to make them tunics.
