I am 66 and getting married again on 12 april. I have got a lovely floor length antique lace outfit. My daughters and i cant agree what hosiery i should wear. If tights, what colour, flesh coloured? One daughter says dont wear any! Am i too old for stockings and suspenders? Ooh la la! Anyone any advice?

Just don't parade around in them when you take your dress off later!

I was think that too, phoenix! grin

Since the dress is floor length I would go for bare legs. Failing that, definitely silk stockings.

Who would be parading around in their knee highs?? You can slip them off before you take the dress off; just an easy and cool alternative to tights or stockings.Hope you have a lovely day anyway Wills the outfit sounds very pretty.

It sounds very exciting! I think you should go for whatever is most comfortable during the day (within reason) and consider what will create the best outline for your dress. Then you can go for a sexy outfit for the bedroom if that's what the new Mr W appreciates.

Hope you have a lovely day willsandco. Sorry to put a dampener on this upbeat thread, but how are your health issues these days?

Wear what feels comfortable, Wills.
For me that would exclude hold-ups, knee-highs, and suspender belts.

If you're wearing sandals, no tights, just a tasteful colour of nail varnish.

If you're wearing shoes, John Lewis do some lovely, 7 denier tights without the thick bit at the toe end, and with little pads under the soles which have a slight cushioning effect.

The trouble with not wearing tights is that your shoes might rub.

Good luck! sunshine

thanks gals for your comments. I think I am going to throw the boat out and get suspender and ivory/white cream stockings. Not going to go this way again, I hope! x Going to look for a hat/fascinator next week, then shoes. I did see some in Binns I liked a few weeks ago. All go, eh?

willandco........your legs, your wedding...your choice! Apart from that YOU have to feel comfortable and relaxed so wear what you feel happiest in. Have a lovely day and Congratulations.

I have eventually decided what to wear. I have bought a suspender belt and two pairs of ivory silk stockings (in case one pair gets snagged during the day!) Next week I have an appointment with a local lady who provides a super bra fitting service and she is going to fix up with some lovely lingerie. So I am getting there. Have got my outfit, hat, shoes, jewellery and wedding ring. Getting exciting now. 8 weeks on Saturday. Thank you all for your input!

well, I got married again and it was a simply wonderful day, start to finish. Eventually wore silk stockings and suspenders which was a major amusement for my daughters and new daughter in law. I want to post photos of my dress for you all to see but I don't know how to download them Anyone any advice?

willsandco yes, please, we want to see your photos! smile

Go to the "Pictures" topic from the main list on the "Forums" page and put your title e.g. "Willsandco Wedding Photos" and then upload below the message, I think it says "Browse photos" or similar (presuming the photos are on your computer).

Looking forward to it! flowers
