What about one from the Nivea range?

Do you want something that's as near natural as possible? If so, Faith in Nature do an intensive one that's about £6.50 and it's very good. You can buy it online, or possibly your local Oxfam if you have one - ours does it as a regular line. It doesn't contain parabens, etc.

Boots products I find quite good and then there'd Ponds cold cream but I've not used that for a while

Ponds do a moisturising cream too - saw it when I was shopping on line for my favourite.

Have you had a look at Avon? The Anew range is good, there is a choice of different day and night creams for various ages, but the best thing is that most of them are available in inexpensive trial size pots so you can give it a go for a week or so to see if it suits you. (The little trial size pots are also very handy to pack if you are going away!)

Something else worth considering for nighttime or while you're in the bath.

Vitamin E capsules....not to take but one split open and gently massaged into face and neck. Oily at first but soon sinks in. Seems that expensive oils like L'Oreal's Extraordinary Facial Oil are the 'in thing'. This is just as effective but much cheaper.

Nankate Just be careful to try on a part of your face that will not be too visable if you have a reaction to a new product,try on the side of the neck just by shoulders,I used the new Nivea range and my face swelled up and I was not able to go out for nearly a week so take care.
The simple range of moisturisers seem to be ok for my skin as it has no nasty additives also vitamin E creams work well.

I am a fan of Oil of Olay. I can usually get it at a price well under £10.

I am not an Avon fan as it brings be out in a rash. Admittedly that was years ago but I have stayed clear since.

Charleygirl same problem here with Avon creams I do sometimes wonder who the Companies do their testings on as I have never been asked for my opinions on such products and there are surely many many people who have very sensitive skin like mine.

I was told by a dermatologist to use E45. I have a very sensitive skin and E45 suits me well. I use Simple brand shower gel for the same reason.

Olay regenerist is about £30.00 in the shops, but much, much cheaper on Amazon, where there's an amazing selection. It is where I do all that sort of shopping, or at least check things out.

I use Argan oil £3.99 in Lidl. Just a couple of drops morning and night, it soaks in quickly and is a natural product. It lasts for ages.
You can also use it on your hair, elbows, anywhere you need it. My skin looks great since I started using it. Recommended.

Posted on another thread about the severe allergic reaction I had to body lotion/ face cream. It turns out it is due to a preservative called methylisothiazolinone which is in many face/body products. It is in Loreal products and Avon and has been featured on Watchdog . Apparently thousands of people have suffered allergic reactions but the companies are not required to warn customers

Thanks for that info, mrsmopp. I bought some Argan Oil on the internet but it was about three times that price - agree it's very good for skin and nails.

We both like Teatree body lotion. Nice, smooth goes a long way. My sis swears by E45 from Boots. Has lovely skin at 75.

Hello - I've just finished thirty radiotherapy treatments on my breast; with the object of blitzing any remaining of cells breast cancer.
The treatment did a pretty good job of toasting the affected boob.

My breast care nurse recommended twice daily massage with E45 to restore the elasticity of the skin. It worked for me, so I'm with, 'Gagagran'; a large tub of E45 was well under ten pounds, and it is now goes all over after my shower.
I can't help believing that the large cosmetics companies charge hugely inflated prices for the extras like perfume and,those unpronouncable 'magic' ingredients.

Aveeno is very good for sensitive skins and is often1/3 off in Boots I first tried it when my daughter was given it on prescription for her new baby

I have used Astral since I was a teenager. I've tried other things but always go back to it as other creams always leave me feeling "tight" or itchy. It is cheap and readily available - less than a fiver. I hope they never discontinue it!

Aqueous cream BP. Very good and inexpensive. I do avoid anything with perfume in, it seems to sting and the smell gets up my nose.

Aveeno here, too. It's quite heavy at first, but still manages to sink in. It's great on dried up hands and forearms.
