I inherited a pair of diamond ones, but am petrified that I will lose them.
I do have a pair of black opal earrings, they were bought 19 years ago after I had my son, to go with my engagement ring, which is also black opal. They are very pretty, in the shape of a flower with a larger central stone surrounded by lots of little stones. The ring is the same, set in a gold filigree leafy band. I don't actually 'do' rings, earrings are my thing, but I think it is the most beautiful ring ever. (Only for me!) It's my birthstone, too. I did manage to find a pair of dangly moonstone earrings that looked almost identical, although they are set in silver, not gold.

Don't look at all the gorgeous earrings they sell, you will be here all night!

Brand new, in a presentation box. She had ordered them online in silver and they sent gold (not real silver and gold - just plated). She told them they had sent the wrong colour and they told her to keep them and they would send the correct ones. So I struck lucky, they are lovely.
Brenda!
