Tonight I smell rather peculiar...

I opened a 4711 sachet the other day that was years old and used it [needed a bit of water adding]. Planning to to buy the cologne stick for my holiday as I'd forgotten how refreshing 4711 is. Hardly ever use perfume these days, mainly because I find that, even if you spray it onto your skin, the smell goes onto your clothes and smells stale quite quickly [I'm meaning coats and scarves that you don't necessarily wash on a regular basis].

Lots of the modern perfumes seem to be rather sickly, and heavy these days, don't they? In fact, so many of them seem to smell more or less the same.

I quite like Imperial leather deodorant/body spray.

It doesn"t smell QUITE like the soap and talc, but is still nice ,not too sickly IMO

I never travel without 4711 wipes. Very cooling and cleansing. Slightly astringent and they can be used to clean toilet seats or railway tables if The occasion arises. They also seem to last for years and if dried out a drop of water revives them. I use the body spray in hotel rooms as a room spray.

So do I Mishap. I think the modern scents smell unpleasantly synthetic.

I used to like "Apple Blossom" by Helena Rubenstein but natural-smelling, light, flowery perfumes are hard to come by now.

....and leaves a nasty after-smell. I steer clear of any sort of scent.

For years I have been looking for a 'clean and soapy' fragrance, and having just read reviews of the Avon Summer White I have ordered some on Ebay. I hope it will live up to it's promise.
Since I was a teenager I have been wearing Elizabeth Arden Blue Grass every day, but can't smell it any more. Everything else I have tried seems so strong and overpowering.

I love Clarins products I must admit but I might try the Avon - the booklet has come through the door. Two excellent suggestions. Thanks

For a cheap and cheerful one try Avon Summer White, when I used to travel a lot by train to see clients I always kept that in my bag and received compliments from several people.

I've bought some Body Shop cologne spray which is nice and light. I've tried some hand cream by Liz Earle and though it works, I don't like the smell. It's my birthday soon and DH is asking what fragrances I might like - something light and floral I think.

By the way Nanabelle I'm from the Isle of Wight though have not been down recently but due a visit I hope shortly - I miss my ozone fix!

I love the Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Tonic Spritzer - it is their Tonic in a small spray container which will slip into a handbag. So refreshing sprayed on the face and very gentle. a 30 ml spritzer is £5.50.

A similar thing is from Body Shop - Vitamin C Skin Reviver - in a spray too. £15 for 30 mls.

I have just got these prices from their websites and can't believe that Body Shop is more expensive than Liz Earle! Liz's Foot spray is also lovely to use - very cooling.
