How do you take care of wrinkles on your face? Since it is so stressful to see the wrinkles especially around my eyes these days, I want to know what I should do with them or what products I should use for them.

A fringe is my best friend. Covers what I think is called elevens, a pair vertical lines on forehead above nose. I also think that short sightedness means that the wrinkles I see in the mirror are not necessarily what the rest of the world see!

Barbara Cartland used to say you either widen or you wizzen. (Sp?)

Lost weight, gained wrinkles!!
Treated myself to a Espa facial and talked myself into buying (2nd mortgage required) some of their products - a facial soap/scrub and a regenerating moisturiser. Very expensive but a visible difference after 2 months. Also picked up a reduced jar of Bio Oil from Boots to treat the dry patches. Overall very pleased, starting to look my age rather than 10 years older, now shopping around for ESPA discount vouchers.

I use Vichy Aqualia Thermal serum all over face and neck then La Roche Posay Redermic Eyes. Neither are particularly expensive. At night I use Una Brennan superfacialist to before cleaning. From Boots and again, cheapish. Slightly more indulgent is the Liz Earle range which I also use. Sounds a faff but it's really quick. I can't be bothered spending too much time on how I look. I'm no great beauty but, thanks to my genes I have at almost 70, very few wrinkles. That said, I often feel my face is a bit bland and quite envy someone who has wrinkles. Felicity Kendall, for example, is my age with lots more wrinkles than me but I think she looks fabulous.

I also use Boots no.7 serum, and day and night cream. I always think they are miraculous, but I think that is because my eyes are not as good as they were, and I don't put my glasses on when applying them. It's all in soft focus, I look ok grin

boots number seven serum sounds good for wrinkles on the face and around the mouth but in Australia we don't have that brand. I wonder what might be similar. Some days are better than others. I think my face wrinkled rather quickly, practically overnight, ever since next door cut down their trees that were making my bathroom quite dark. Once they went, wham I saw my face with a lot more clarity!! I think I will ask them to put them back in!

Good morning, you can buy Cyclax moisturiser at Amazon and Bay, not for 99p though more like £4 but still a fraction of some other moisturisers.

I seem to have read that they have taken an ingredient out of the "piles" ointment that people used for bags under eyes...but I may ahve imagined it so don't quote me...

I did used to use Cyclax lavender moisturizer on ly face (99p) for a but tub, but cant find it any more. it used to leave my skin nice n soft.

I have been using Boots No 7 serum for a few months now and quite a few friends have said that my skin looks nice ( not knowing I had tried this serum ) so I think it must be doing something .I thought it was expensive at £25 ( or £20 with the £5 off voucher I quite often get when I buy other things from Boots )However it does seem to be lasting me a long time as you don't need much .So I will keep going with it .

I was served in a shop today by a very young girl. Her hair was dyed jet black; she wore heavy black eye make up and her eyebrows were heavily pencilled in and looked very thick and black. She had a thick layer of foundation on and it was not a good look.
I couldnt help wondering what her natural face looked like under all that stuff.
I wouldn't worry about a few wrinkles, I think we look better than she did, and she's probably 50 years younger than most of us.

For ages now, I have used Argan oil. Two squirts with the little pump at the top of the bottle into the palm of my hand and its enough to cover face and neck. It soaks in really quickly. You can use the same product on dry skin anywhere, elbows, shins etc.
i think it is more effective than anything else I have used. You can get it in Boots and occasional in Lidl - it is natural, cheap and a bottle lasts for ages.
Has anyone else tried it?

Ana Wed 19-Aug-15 18:42:08

Grannyknot those lines from my nose to my mouth are my bete noir (I have others, but these are the worst)

My friend C and I often stand in front of the large mirror in the dining area of my kitchen with our fingers gently applied to our cheeks to check just how little upward movement it takes to make them practically disappear!

(Still tempted to try the pile ointment...........) blush

I think I am quite lucky. I have never used make-up as never found any I liked and I rarely use creams and the wrinkles are staying away lol. I have a few laughter lines but I think that is fine smile as it shows I've had a happy life

granjura Wed 19-Aug-15 17:04:30

psst us chubby people have a lot less wrinkles ;)

pattie Wed 19-Aug-15 16:43:49

I ve been using fillers and Botox for 15 yrs sometimes it's better than others. Bruises can be hidden by panstick for a few days. I have found a good practioners and intend to keep having treatment til I drop.
Take the plunge.

printmiss smile lines are great, but some people have lines that are not from smiling. I think those vertical lines from the corners of the mouth to the jawline are called "marionette" lines and they are very ageing. Not sure what can be done about those, but I think facial lines can affect self-esteem. I don't have marionette lines or lines above my upper lip but I do have frown lines - hidden by my fringe! smile

I live with hope in my heart. I had lovely smooth skin I thought would last forever..then one day I looked in the mirror and they had arrived!!! unannounced and they bring more friends every day....the dreaded wrinkles!
Now as they seemed to arrive unexpectedly, I live in hope that I may look in the mirror again one day to find they have left have left just as quickly.....so its not something I worry about. Now dearest hubby says never mind the wrinkles how about getting my mind checked out?
grin Nothing wrong with me....its everybody else wink

Cosafina Wed 19-Aug-15 15:50:10

I read recently that the best thing for wrinkles was Hyaluronic acid as it naturally holds about 200 times its own size in water (or something) so I tried some stuff from Boots (I think it was called Indeed) and I did think it made a difference. They were only samplers though, so I'm back to my normal Clarins and Boots Serum.

My young friend says her MiL - who is in her 70s and looks about 40 - swears by Helena Rubenstein, but I can't afford that!

PRINTMISS Wed 19-Aug-15 15:07:12

Well, I have worked hard all my life, been told I am always smiling, and I think the wrinkles are proof of that. Why would I want to get rid of them.

GrAnne2 Wed 19-Aug-15 14:56:15

As a lifetime non-smoker & reluctant embracer of 'expression' lines, I'm really disheartened by the vertical lines above my upper lip that have developed since the menopause. I'm not willing to risk an adverse reaction from surgical/ beautician intervention but lament that they make my outside look a lot more tired & grumpy than I actually feel inside! Any miracle creams or supplements to be recommended?

KatyK Wed 19-Aug-15 09:51:58

I have a lot of things to get stressed about - wrinkles are not on the list.
