Can somebody explain how this is used? I bought a can, sprayed it on my hair when it was due a wash but I can't say it's made any difference. Still looks lank and greasy! confused

It used to be quite well used a few decades ago. And seems to have made somewhat of a comeback.
I havent used it, but a friend who I consider quite particular about things, does on a few occasions.

I dont think your hair is still supposed to look lank and greasy after using dry shampoo.
Perhaps it depends on hair type. Or on how long ago you washed your hair.

I think you are meant to spray it on, jiggle it about a bit with your fingertips, then let it stay for a few minutes before brushing it out with a clean brush. I've used it and think it works a bit.
However, brushing some talcum powder through your hair seems to work just as well.

Hmm, did you shake the can well before use and did you lift your hair so you could spray directly on to the roots and what make did you use ?
I occasionally use the leading brand whose name escapes me at the moment. I've always been pleased with the result. Do choose one suitable for your hair colour. I recommend mine to DD and she picked up the first one she saw, which was for dark hair and she's blond thlgrin

They used to be all white powder, but now you can buy coloured ones, much better! Lift hair up and spray the roots all over. Then massage hair as if you were washing it, leave for a minute, then put your head down and brush out well. They work well.

I use dry shampoo. My hairdresser recommended it because my hair was over washed. You have to give it a chance to work. Like ninathenana said, you have to lift your hair and give it short squirts rather than one long surface spray then give it a good rub in. It's made a big difference to me. My hair is getting used to being washed less and is actually becoming less greasy.

I remember using Batiste dry shampoo in my teens when I had very greasy hair which never looked good unless it was washed that day. I think it was effective in delaying hairwash by a day but no longer.

Sorry nina grin I often just answer the OP and not read the replies!

I use Batiste all the time, as it gives a bit of body to my awful fine hair. I must say I've tried other brands when they've been on offer and not yet found another one that works.

Batiste is the name I couldn't remember.
