I dislike pyjamas and nightdresses , most uncomfortable, either twist around legs or waist

I can't sleep in anything too warm, so I wear short satin nighties. Why then, do they disappear in the autumn, to be replaced by pyjamas and long sleeved nighties?

What I hate is the way so many nightdresses aimed at older women (in other words, warm, with long sleeves and midcalf length seem to come in twee pale colours or pretty florals). I like strong colours and patterns.

I do that too loopylou and find Next or M&S perfect for that! I have a lovely check nightshirt from M&S that I put on with a pair of leggings in the evening, lovely for lounging around in....

At bedtime I just like my comfy PJ's - we have underfloor heating so slippers not required grin

I tend to buy pyjama bottoms then a tee shirt separately. That way I can choose the right degree of warmth or short or long sleeves.
I refuse to even consider pjs with gimmicky or advertising Walt Disney etc.

Slippers? I buy on line.
I have some lovely sheepskin 'bootees' and a very comfortable pair of Romika wool slippers, not cheap but comfortable and unusual.

I had a smashing pair of tartan zip-up slippers. They were a Christmas present from my uncle Noel in 1962 when I was 9. I loved them, so warm and snuggly. Remember getting told off for wearing them out in the snow.

Like tartan zip-up slippers and wincyette nighties with high collars? grin

I'm with you on this Tresco it's my constant moan in fact.I want pretty, but grown up nightdresses and slippers/ dressing gown.I do manage to get them in the end, but takes ages to find.I also do not want anything that smacks of Granny Grunt.

Why do manufacturers think that both your IQ and your age plummet at night only to return to normal during the day? I do not want slippers with toy dogs on the toes, nightdresses/pyjamas with cartoon characters/silly slogans/twee pictures, etc, etc. I'd like something stylish and grown up, but not fuddy duddy nor overtly "sexy". I've just looked at M&S ballerina slippers and there isn't a pair I'd contemplate. Of course, I realise this is a personal view and other people may love them!
