Help, due to health problems, now sorted thankfully and a lot of stress, I am horrified by my appearance. I always had good skin, then developed eczema on my forehead, now noticed how pallid my complexion is and dehydrated. All if a sudden my neck has become a problem area to. Look older than my years now I think.Hair grown too long, so had it chopped off. Luckily that has stopped thick and not too grey. Any suggestions for getting my mojo back, got to be careful with creams and products with over fume in because it starts my face itching like mad. There is nothing like stress to age you.

Glad you're feeling better. This time of year is the worst for feeling that skin, hair and nails are awful.

If you can, why not book yourself in for a spa day or just a facial to kick start your well being? They will take into account any problems allergies that you have and give advice.

Waitrose do a cleansing/ moisture range called 'Pure', which is very good.

A good night's sleep? Are you perhaps sleeping badly or in pain which is adding to your stress? Eczema is a BGR at any time, but can also be stress related.
I would suggest, look at your hours of sleep, level of hydration, the products which you might have used for years but which no longer agree with you.
Try another look at your current hairstyle and the colours you wear too. My neck has become a total disaster area so I rarely venture out without a colourful scarf.
Sometimes a new lippy and blusher can really perk up your face.
Other than that, there are no quick fixes, just enough sleep, fresh air, enough water, a few outings to brighten your days and (if you can find it) something to make you laugh!

I was where you are 18 months ago, so I started taking a multivitamin every day, upped drinking water to 2-3 litres/day and moisturised like mad. I used M&S Pure moisturiser and the Pure facial oil every night.
It seems to have worked!
It's also about nurturing yourself too; I go for long walks or just sit and read/listen to music and have plenty of sleep (I was majorly sleep-deprived from stress)
Hope this helps and that your mojo comes bouncing back very soon x

Winter skin! Why not treat yourself to a nice relaxing facial and, if you can afford it, a massage, pedicure and get your eyebrows sorted.

Explain to the therapist about your skin and she ought to have anti-allergetic products to suit. I'm guessing over fume means perfume?

I've got eczema that comes and goes, if I use too much scented shampoo, shower gel etc. I have found a range from Waitrose that are very good. They are all called "pure". They do shampoo, body butter and beauty balm. My DD recommended them as she uses the shampoo for her boys. They suffer from a scaly dry skin condition called x-linked ichthyosis and cannot tolerate products containing SLS. All the pure range are SLS free. (SLS - sodium lauryn sulfate). There are lots of SLS free shampoos on the market, have a Google and see.

A proper relaxing facial would be good for you, then maybe an overhaul of all your potions and lotions to find ones that suit you best. New hairstyle, don't just chop inches off, manicure and pedicure and couple of new tops/scarves. These will be great short term pick me ups but, as others have said, look after yourself with good food, lots of water and some exercise. Make yourself the priority for a while!!

I would never have thought I was vain, but massive doses of steroids have resulted in me losing lots of hair, developing dry skin, and now have a great big " moon face".

Hairdresser advised me that a drastic cut would be best, but, combined with the " moon face", it's not a good look.

I really must read back what I type, yes I meant perfume Anya. All Your suggestions are excellent, sleep is a problem, I get to bed and start worrying. From today, I am going to drink a small glass of water before every cup of tea, I have so many a day. Walk at least 30 minutes briskly, then after a fortnight book a facial, pedicure and manicure. I will happily treat someone else, but always feel frivolous doing it for myself. I am always saying to friends, go on treat yourself your worth it, so I'm going to look in the mirror and tell myself that, starting today.

So sorry Daddima about your problem with taking steroids, know what you mean about the moon face, perhaps the cut your hairdresser gave you needs more layers or texture to it, that softens the look, I have found that my longer Bob style, whilst always looks good, hardens my face now I'm going south, so I will be having even more off, a complete change. I don't know if your steroids will be reduced, but know it is a gradual thing coming off them, I had to do it over many weeks, but things get back to normal afterwards. All the best to you.
