I usually wear Knowing by Estée Lauder which I love. I'd like to find another perfume, have been out today, but have come back empty handed as in the end they all smelt similar.
What is your favourite? I'm looking for something not sweet or flowery.

I only wear two perfumes ( not at same time. )grin
Chanel 5 and Perceive by Avon.

So many memories on here - Kiku, Moonwind....

I've been wearing Armani She for some years now, as a signature scent.

Can't imagine trying to find a new one, it would be like getting back on the dating merry go round ?

Was it Lentheric who made Tramp?

NotTooOld Mon 08-Feb-16 22:21:11

Yes, it was Lentheric who made Tramp in 1975 - I've just googled it. I was surprised to find you can still buy it (£7.85 on e-bay) but now it's made by Mayfair. I wonder if it smells the same. Anyone know?

Beautiful by Estee Lauder.

Aromatics or Happy by Clinique. Anais Anais by Cacharel. Blue Grass by Elizabeth Arden which is my absolute favourite. White Musk by the body shop which they don't make any more . I used to wear Opium when I was much younger but it's too heavy now

Marmight Tue 09-Feb-16 07:28:34

Happy Summer by Clinique; Light Blue by Dolce & Gabbana and Coco by Chanel

Forgot and Miracle by Lancôme. Bought 5 trial sizes in duty free last year and that was lovely, not heard of it before

24Faubourg is my "signature" I suppose as I use the shower and deo daily but some of these mentioned has made me want to go and try some new ones. I use Caleche and Arpege for evenings.

Love Knowing but hubby always called it Beautiful which I had worn before, not sure if it was a deliberate error or he couldn't,tell the difference

The perfume i wear is a lovely fragrance, it's called loo-loo it's very overwhelming, i got it because it is the name of my dead cat! God rest her soul, i have Mr Porky now. he is GREAT

Jaxie Tue 09-Feb-16 15:42:30

Try My Burberry. Not too sweet and cloying. See if you can get a sample, as I did in John Lewis.

Cinders123 Tue 09-Feb-16 15:49:12

Used First by Vancleef & Arpels years ago now love Eau de Soir by Sisley or Tom Ford white patchouli - you only need a little!

portiatrue Tue 09-Feb-16 18:00:45

Pomegranate Noir by Jo Malone gorgeous for evening and Jo Malone Blackberry and Bay for daytime. Smells like a forest when it's been raining!

Another vote for Chanel No 5 here - but always the body lotion. It makes me feel wonderful, and lasts all day.

I was mortally embarrassed when a complete stranger (a man) got into a lift I was in and said "Oh, you're wearing 'So da la Renta', nice!" I didn't know where to put myself, I only wear a little and try to be subtle, just the thought of someone sniffing me!
Fave perfume now is 'Si', perhaps I have something about two-letter names!

Sortilege Le Gallion, Goya Gardenia, Soir de Paris, Lancome MaGriffe, Coty L'aimant. Teenage bliss!

Calvin Klein Obsession, have worn it everyday for at least 30 years and all my children and grandchildren recognise it!
Don't save your perfume ( or clothes or anything for that matter) for best, today might be your best !

rotate between Chanel No 5, First (van cleef & Arpel) and Opium which I have not bought for years and just gone back to.

Neversaydie Thu 18-Feb-16 23:35:33

My ' go to' is Dior's Dolce Vita . But currently also wearing Black Opium YSL and Peony Neuve Penhalgion(bought in TKMaxx Full price Penhalgion is a ridiculous price )
I like a lighter perfume for summmer Love Rive Gauche and Chanel No 5 but gave former to DD1 for her 18th and would feel weird to wear it now And shewears the latter 'for best'

Neversaydie Thu 18-Feb-16 23:37:42

Oh and I love Eau Sauvage Strictly speaking its after shave.

Neversaydie Thu 18-Feb-16 23:58:11

Did anyone else used to spray their perfume on their children's pillows when they were going out for the evening?DDs bought me some Dolce Vita for Christmas because 'that's the smell that reminds us of you'
And yes the thread has reminded me in my time I have loved Sortilege,Femme Je Reviens and Mitsouko

As a teenager I used to wear Manhatten which was in a tall oblong bottle. It went out of production sadly.

I went to a Museum of 50s and 60s memorabilia and saw a bottle of this perfume. I could immediately smell it, which is very odd as it was in a sealed case -spooky. [ hmm]

I often wear Angel now made by Thiere someone - odd name.

I love somthing with a spicy kick. My son bought me flower bomb in the darker purple bottle and I love it. It smells like spicy roses. Cheered me up over these last few grey winter months. In the summer I often wear clarins Eau Dynamisante. I'm tempted to try some of those mentioned here.

Greyduster Fri 19-Feb-16 08:24:03

neversaydie I love spicy scents and I often think men have some of the best smelies at their disposal. Nothing, of course, to say that we can't wear them. Mine likes Davidoff 'Cool Water' which he knows I love. He bought me the female version, 'Cool Water Woman', and it was hideous - even he said so. I couldn't wear it.

There is a museum of perfume in Barcelona. Not many people visit it but I found it fascinating to see all these old perfume bottles and brands from years ago. It is at the back of a shop and they had to unlock it for us to go in.
