I am also a fan of tanning cream to give a sunkissed look to legs and build it up gradually when the warmer weather comes,I spend most of my time in jeans/jeggings normally but this year I have invested in a few new maxi dresses they hide a multitude of sins.

Penny you may well be the only one who really notices your legs. Very often we only notice them ourselves because we are looking hard enough to see because they are our legs. As twiggy says they are jolly useful too! grin

Some of us have skinny legs because we can't use them much so if yours are usable then just go for it and think how good that is. smile

My legs were always my best asset along with my hair. Both have completely lost the plot.....hey ho.

izabella all of us are appalled at the atrocities in the world around us, so pennyjw has probably fervently counted all her blessings, as indeed I have, so doesn't want a bloody lecture on what sort of tights to buy. This is a site for lots of different topics including light heartened discussions as well as worldwide tragedies

Just been reading the news about Brussels and the many people with traumatic amputations. All a case of perspective .......

I have had varicose veins since I was 13 - my legs look like a relief map of England - and wear shorts if I want to and sod it if anyone else objects/stares etc. It is their problem not mine. I do wear tights on the odd occasion I wear a dress but just normal ones. My legs may not be the best looking legs around but by golly they are useful !

Am in the "smooth as a babies bum" camp, well moisturised, and the tanning cream you add to every couple of days until desired "brownness" I have veiny legs, urgh, and find this is my best solution. Tights never look right for me apart from black opaques but maybe your dress won't look right with them, hope you find something that makes you feel super gorgeoussmile

I hate my teeth! All sorts of braces and treatment did nothing to straighten them, but honestly in the scheme of things it doesn't really matter, and my life would still be the same. Just say sod it - life's too short especially when you get to our age - who cares.

Does anyone out there have legs like mine? For years I have only worn trousers as although I am not overweight, I hate my legs! I must have had a funny five minutes as I have bought a dress and need to show the world that I actually do have legs....

Can anyone recommend some tights that are flattering? I dont want "old lady" thick onessmile but maybe some support ones. In M&S they seem to be 7 or 10 denier "look" which are unlikely to cover the red blotches and vein on my heavy pins!

If all else fails I could resort to leg makeup, return the dress - can anyone help?
