My husband is 51 and still wears 2 or 3 silver hoops in his left ear - he has about 5 holes pierced in there altogether but only uses 2 or 3 of them at any one time. I like a man with a pierced ear myself

Yes you can - have just googled "Henna tattoos" and there is lots of info, including do it yourself at home ones.
I've had my ears pierced for years but recently thought about getting another one done on one ear as I have a pair of diamond studs which I rarely wear and would like to wear one as a third earring. Just can't decide.

Go for it. You've made me think of a very attractive man I know, who has an earring in his left ear (a stud) and is most definitely not gay not that I know this through experience, alas.

Have whatever you like pierced! Why not? You are your own boss so why not be a little frivolous. The possibilities are endless.

I had my ears pierced when I was in my 30s. It was painless and, once the healing period was over, they've given me no bother whatsoever. I go for long periods without wearing earrings, now that I'm no longer working, and the piercings don't close up. Clip earrings are horrible things to wear, feel heavy and make your ears ache, whereas you barely notice it once you have earrings for pierced ears in place (even quite big dangly ones.) Pierced ears are not exactly outrageous!

Pompa when I split from my then husband I did all the outrageous things- cut my hair short, had a tattoo, and had my belly button pierced -that was 18 years ago, - I was no spring chicken either - and I have absolutely no regrets, I felt I was making a stand about my independence and bl**dy mindedness , yes my family shook their heads but smiled too, and my son was delighted! Which meant more to me than anything, so go for it!!?

I'm a firm believer in your never too old for anything ! If your mind is young enough to hanker to anything and it's not just a passing fancy - then go for it. The more outrageous the better I'd say and having your ears pierced is not dangerous so what are you waiting for ? (And think of all those lovely earings you could buy ! )

Yay go for the tattoo! I got one done as my present to myself for my 49th birthday. Husband seriously disapproved - we are now divorced! I don't for one minute expect divorce to be a normal consequence of a tattoo, but a bit of discreet inking made me feel very naughty! Having been a goody 2 shoes with repressive parents it was FAB (no regrets about the divorce either)

No you go for it my mother decided to go into a jewellers and have hers done just on the spur of the moment she said she had always liked earrings and was fed up of clip ons and she was coming up to seventy.

My temp tattoo was henna. It was done in a market in Malta for about £10.

I had my ears pierced in my fifties-one was fine but the other one took AGES to heal. DH offered to help with the bradall from his shed-told him to get lost!
I've thoroughly enjoyed wearing earrings since then.

Rosesarered , I already wear flowery shirts - Hawaiian ones. Not suede shoes though, unless you count my dance shoes which have suede soles.

I had my ears pierced when I was 25 and my first, hasty, ill judged and disastrous marriage had just ended in tears. I had my ears pierced again, so 2 earrings in each ear lobe now, when I was 50 and my second, long but not happy marriage was ended by me. If I live to be 75 I may have some more piercings done just to celebrate that and my third and very happy marriage.
