Is it a fashion statement ?

I like the look of silver locks.

Recently I was trying on some frames at my optician's, I have been going to him for about 25 years. He prides himself of being able to judge whether his client's choice will suit them.

I tried on a rather nice purple pair and he said 'oh no you can't have those as they make your hair look greyer'. And there's me thinking my locks look ash blonde grin

My grey roots are about three inches long now. Looks terrible but I keep having it trimmed so another six months and I'll be a silver fox. smile

My problem is, if I let my colour grow out, I get WHITE roots!

I seem to remember it was a popular look among older celebs etc. a couple of years ago, apparently to show the world that they weren't going grey...hmm

That's assuming we still have dark roots!!!

People pay for that look around here. They get dark roots put in. It's a great time to grow your hair colour out and look fashionable.

In the 1960s if you coloured you hair when re growth came through there was a dash to the Hairdressers to get your roots touched up.

Nowadays that does seem to happen. The lovely Ellie on Countryfile has this awful dark parting against her blonde locks sad . Lots of other celebrities do the same.

Do you think they leave it on purpose ?
