I normally have a lot of time for Camilla and like her style, but this time her fashion adviser somebody needs sacking!!

synonomous I think it's more the fact hat she intends to wear the purple with a red hat that doesn't go.

Jalima Mon 30-May-16 17:56:11

under a slightly bleak Welsh mountain, I could see the Welsh mountains today and they weren't bleak, the sun was shining on them grin
Half the time she goes around dressed like the queen mother instead of a woman who is still young attractive
Young? I must be young too then, oh yipee
(however I wouldn't wear that and I think she will consign it to the bin/charity shop when she sees pictures of herself in it.)
And I didn't think she was overweight either, probably just right.
I must say, for someone who seemed a 'jolly hockey sticks' kind of young woman she has gained elegance as she has got older, but this dress was a faux-pas.

Luckylegs9 Mon 30-May-16 17:38:57

Not a fan of Camilla, but must say I think the criticism of her weight etc in papers unfair she is not a young girl, so what if she carries a bit of weight, I think she dresses appropriately, she looked in the mirror and obviously was satisfied with how she looked and that's what matters, I thought it was an interesting look. As a woman of a certain age it's nice to look a little different.

Anniebach Mon 30-May-16 17:24:36

I have worn some awful things, still do

nanakate Mon 30-May-16 17:17:00

I reckon she has put a white sleeved blouse over a rather lovely cream sleeveless dress. You can see the top of the dress if you look hard.

granjura Mon 30-May-16 16:47:16

Agreed (re looking at old photos) ... at the end of the day- that dress is bl**dy awful, we all agree. But she made Charles happy and Diana did not... so there are more important things.

willsmadnan Mon 30-May-16 16:45:02

I suppose we have all looked at old photos of ourselves at weddings etc and thought " oh my God, what was I thinking when I wore that?' Well I have anyway. Rabbie Burns springs to mind....."Oh that God the gift ha' gies us, to see ourselves as others see us!! Thankfully most of our fashion disasters don't make the front pages of the tabloids.

SueDonim Mon 30-May-16 16:20:16

I can't say that would been my choice of frock but each to their own!

A couple of years ago I was flying up to Aberdeen when I spotted someone I vaguely knew seated a few rows in front of me. I didn't get a chance to speak at the time but when the flight landed and she stood up, I realised that the person I 'knew' was in fact Camilla. grin She looked like someone you'd know as a doctor's receptionist or who worked in the library or somewhere.

She was wearing a coat that had seen better days but she obviously loved! Her security detail was seated on the opposite side of the aisle while Camilla was sat next to a rather bemused-looking Chinese lady who was wondering why her fellow passenger had been given a bouquets of flowers by the cabin crew.

Di-a-bloody-bolical dress . You would have thought Charlie would have said he wasn`t going out with her looking like that .

Synonymous Mon 30-May-16 15:43:00

Oh well. blush

notyetagran Mon 30-May-16 15:40:50

Silly old trout has finally lost it. (Not that I was ever of the opinion that she had it, really) grin

Synonymous Mon 30-May-16 15:14:23

Just love the poem by Jenny Joseph! Wasn't aware that wearing purple was not seen as 'the done thing' so do explain - why, please? confused
I have to declare an interest that I actually quite like purple. hmm

Alea Mon 30-May-16 15:13:33

I would say one hoot is an acceptable minimum.

thatbags Mon 30-May-16 15:01:07

Hello, jings. I've ordered them smile

Is it allright if I don't care two hoots what Camilla wears?

Anniebach Mon 30-May-16 13:57:57

We have rather a lot of them Jingle grin and I admit they can be grim in the winter

jinglbellsfrocks Mon 30-May-16 13:50:33

It was a compliment to the Welsh mountain actually.

Anniebach Mon 30-May-16 13:45:08

I think it's not Camilla doesn't want to try and compete with Diana, she wouldn't want or need to surely

Anniebach Mon 30-May-16 13:42:29

Thank you Jingle

KateG Mon 30-May-16 13:41:00

Whilst appreciating that Camilla doesn't want to try and compete with Diana in the style charts, why on earth doesn't she employ a stylist. This dress is absurd beyond reason. Half the time she goes around dressed like the queen mother instead of a woman who is still young attractive and rich enough to be able to buy and wear stylish and flattering clothes.

jinglbellsfrocks Mon 30-May-16 13:40:23

I will give you that mountains can be beautiful. smile

Anniebach Mon 30-May-16 13:38:45

You really must find more interesting things to ponder on Jingle . I don't live in a cottage / terrace or under a mountain and mountains are not bleak they are beautiful .

jinglbellsfrocks Mon 30-May-16 13:36:44

I think the frock probably looked much better in the flesh, and in amongst the other guests at that high falutin' wedding. She probably fitted right in.

jinglbellsfrocks Mon 30-May-16 13:35:00

Anniebach I often picture you, sitting amongst your little terrace of Welsh cottages, under a slightly bleak Welsh mountain, desperately trying to find a diversion by trying to pick an argument with another Gransnetter. grin flowers cupcake

loopyloo Mon 30-May-16 13:16:35

Yes, less is more. Single skirt would have been better.

Neversaydie Mon 30-May-16 12:58:43

Such a shame Her actual wedding dress (the blue one) which I have seen 'in the flesh'so to speak was exquisite .I suspect she may gave winced when she saw the pics
