mascara that dyes your eyelashes

Thanks for that, I was going to get the mascara and give it a try, defo will now. Sorry can't help with the eye brow thing tho, will wait to see tips from others that come along.

it's worth a go i think - the rate of darkening seems to have slowed a bit now, but it was quite noticeable after the first week. at least it was to me!

i tried the eyelure brow dyeing kit but it was rubbish, so i'll be waiting for tips too!

I have my eyelashes and brows dyed regularly but it gets expensive and I'm sure can't be very good for me -occasionally when the stuff gets into my eyes it really stings!

Inbetween dyeing I do use Benefit's Brow Pencil on my brows which gives them some definition. The lady at the counter said I had to use the pencil backwards through my brows (if that makes sense - against the hairline) and then use the brush to brush them back into place. Helps the pencil colour to attach more naturally.

I just took a look but they only do it in Black I use dark brown I just wonder if it would be too dark for me.. looks good though and its cheap too.

is that the mascara or the benefit pencil tanith? i could have sworn i saw the mascara in brown

against the grain minimo - that sounds interesting! shall have to experiment with that, haven't heard of it before

If you're using an eyebrow pencil for colour/definition then use a dark grey. It blends well and gives a more natural look rather than the harsher browns or blacks.

The mascara only comes in black or extreme black, according to the Boots website.

For eyebrows try Benefits 'Gimme Brows'. You can build it up to what suits you. I found the girls on the counter to be really helpful (especially in JL Cambridge).

isitjustme that's the mascara, I did buy a grey brow pencil but my daughter said it looked awful with my silver/grey hair so I went back to brown with dark brown mascara.

Daughters hey tanith!! My daughter told me a few years back that I had young hair but an old face. I did know what she meant, so I had my long hair cut.

I have vitaligo so one set of eyelashes has gone quite white, as has its accompanying eyebrow, and both eyebrows are very sparse now. So the new mascara I will have to try! As for the eyebrows, I have literally just bought at the weekend a kit composing of white wax and 3 different coloured powders....blonde, light and dark brown, which seems to work well.

I have my eyebrows dyed and shaped by a local beautician who doesn't charge a fortune. I can't see well enough to sort out my eyebrows!

I swear by dyelash brow dye in brown - use it approx every 4 weeks on brows, leaving it on for the longer time suggested on the box for 'white' hairs. It works for me & looks much more natural than pencils or powders. It also is very economical, as a pack lasts for ages.

Hi Isitjustme. I decided I wanted a more permanent solution for my fast disappearing eyebrows so went for a technique called Epibrows Microblading and couldn't be more pleased with the result. Having eyebrows has made such an amazing difference to my face with friends and family saying they don't know what I've had done but I look so much younger! Bring it on! Expensive, but worth every penny. Won't go into it in detail, you can ask Mr Google but you have one session followed by another six weeks later and then a yearly top up.

If you buy Rapid Brow or Rapid Lash on Amazon for about £20 and use whichever you buy on both lashes and brows you will see an enormous difference in about 3 weeks. I use Rapid Brow as it has a mascara style brush. Then I buy Bel Essence, also from Amazon. This is a non-chemical oil which I use as my nightly moisturiser because once you stop using the Rapid Brow/ Lash then your lashes and brows once again become sparce but I have noticed that Bel Essence encourages the growth and prevents loss and I now have very glamourous lashes and brows for a 62 year old.

I use Swiss Pro dye on eyebrows in brown. Goes too dark for first couple of days but then settles down and lasts for about a month. Covers greys well.

I had my brows microbladed ten days ago and I am so pleased with the result, very natural looking. True, it is a little expensive but so worth it. I hardly had any brows to speak of before, plucked to oblivion in the seventies!

I have my eyebrows tattooed It lasts for years, and it doesn't really hurt that much.
The microblading is almost the same thing. Just doesn't last as long.
I tell my Grandchildren that I am getting a tattoo, they are very impressed.

Just bought some Colourist mascara. Went on well.....will await the lash tint!

Probably like a lot of people I plucked my eyebrows quite savagely once then regretted it for ever. I have always had to carefully pencil them in and then brush to give a natural look. On hot days the 'natural look'melts away by lunchtime and virtually no eyebrows gives a very strange look I fear (to my face anyway) Recently I had them dyed - what a difference! The clever beautician waxed around the eyebrows then dyed the tidied up few wispy hairs that I have and hey presto - they look almost normal! She seems to have managed to find and dye hairs that didn't even show before, and the look is very tidy, and so much better than my pencilled efforts. I am a convert now and go back once a month - it's around £12.00.

Just want to add - why is it that one plucking of the eyebrows gives you the startled rabbit look for ever, with absolutely no hope of regrowth, but the hairs that grow on your chin....seem set to survive a nuclear attack.

Ooh, ooh! I'm another convert. Infact I'm surprised nobody thought of it before... So much easier than faffing about trying to dye my own eyelashes while squinting in the mirror because I've taken my glasses off.

Microblading - I'm very interested in this, but have never heard of it before (another former over-plucker). Can I ask whether it's very expensive?
