The other baggy jeans thread got me thinking...

So I went and counted. 9 pairs! More than one for every day of the week. blush Anyone else want to reveal?

Four pairs, two of which are my gardening jeans. Which, as you probably can imagine are not respectable outside the garden. I garden on my hands and knees. I will have to source another pair soon as the fabric on the knees is in holes.

Lycra a blessing-remember laying down and pulling up zip with a coat hanger in my youth! And wearing in the bath to 'shrink to fit'! ?

nannypink1 Fri 07-Oct-16 23:01:35

I live in them too. Skinny lycra jeans. I am a 34" inside leg girl n with heels they look good. But I only wear high rise ones. They flatten yr tum..no muffin top.... and when you bend down they don't need hitching up again. Love em

Though I prefer trousers, stillhere is right re the jodhpur look. I have complained to M n S about this shape, and I've even resorted to altering the shape myself! It's the curse of the narrower leg. They don't get the gradual shaping right.

Nanna58 Fri 07-Oct-16 21:42:30

Dozens! Girlfriend, boyfriend, ripped, boot cut, relaxed straight - love'em, live in them, couldn't be without them !

I can't understand why some think they don't look good - I think they are very flattering, if the right size is being worn, and as long as no muffin top is involved.

too many pairs in blue shades to count, denim and cotton
several pairs in black, denim, velvet and cotton
3 pairs of brown, 1 in denim, 2 in cotton
1 pair grape in cotton
1 pair very narrow blue and white stripes
2 pairs grey, 1 in denim, 1 in cotton

I also have cord jeans in several colours. Also have linen, now I think about it. Some pairs are cropped.

I suppose I have pairs for all seasons. I'd rather have a pair of jeans with all the useful pockets that don't make you look a strange shape, than a pair of trousers with pockets in the side seams that make you look as if you are wearing jodhpurs.

loupylou to get longer tops I usually buy a jumper dress. Usually M & S from ebay, I'm bidding on a Kaliko one at present.

Legs55 Fri 07-Oct-16 19:48:28

2 pairs for winter everyday wear, 2 pairs navy (jeggings) for going out in winter. 2 pairs of white for summer, 2 cropped white. Not many really but I'm on the look out for some more, M & S fit me fine so waiting until I can go & buy a couple more pairs for winter. Had a good clear out so I probably gave several pairs to Charity (didn't like style, gone off colour etc) Love stretch ones as my waist can vary a little depending on weight fluctuations grin

I have several pairs, all of which look good until they are worn the first time after washing, no matter how expensive they are.

However, last night I went to put on my 'best' jeans, only to discover they have disappeared! This weekend will be spent hunting through what I thought were my well organised wardrobes.

pollyperkins Fri 07-Oct-16 18:18:35

Well I think jeans are more flTtering than tailored trousers sometimes! I have 3 blue pairs (one very old), one grey, one brown (old), one pale green (old) and 3 pairs of corduroy ones , (if they count) for winter : red, navy, brown. Hardly wear the old ones except for gardening.

SueDonim Fri 07-Oct-16 17:44:09

About five. One pair of blue jeans, two black pairs which are now in varying shades of faded grey, one pair of cream flowery ones and a wine coloured pair.

ClaraB Fri 07-Oct-16 17:38:33

About 10, but not all fit me at the moment!

Lilyflower Fri 07-Oct-16 17:01:43

I have about four. I realised a few years ago that they don't look good when they get faded so have have solved that by never washing them. I hang them up to air them and then steam/ press them and wear them with very posh tops and high end boots and shoes which I get at bargain prices at T.K.Maxx and with pearls. I have one pair of jeans for every day and three for best. When the scraggy jeans look unwearable I throw them away and buy another new, cheap pair from Dotty P. or New Look.

I realise this is bonkers but it works for me.

Falconbird Fri 07-Oct-16 16:57:14

None. I have always found jeans unbearably uncomfortable even when I was a size 10 back in the day. When I was in my early thirties I wore jeans on holiday and they were so uncomfortable I took them to a charity shop when I got home.

grannypiper Fri 07-Oct-16 16:26:00

I refuse to incriminate myself !

Bijou Fri 07-Oct-16 14:47:36

None. Never had any. Most unfeminine and unflattering things for women ever invented.

Disgruntled Fri 07-Oct-16 14:42:27

3, all size 10, one from Per Una, one from Mint Velvet and one Paul Smith(EBay).

Theoddbird Fri 07-Oct-16 12:24:54

One pair of levis...I wear them when I am carrying the load of logs delivered at front through to the patio where I stack them. Occasionally wear them when gardening. I don't do trousers.

Marelli Fri 07-Oct-16 11:54:49

Have consigned my 4 pairs of size 14's to charity shop. Jeggings, boots and long tops are more comfy and even if I have to get a size bigger now, it's not the end of the world... blush!

Craftycat Fri 07-Oct-16 11:45:32

12 & 3 still actually fit me!!

I keep hoping the other 9 pairs will either miraculously stretch orI will finally slim into them again.

DaphneBroon Fri 07-Oct-16 11:40:43

One more blush black velvet straight leg.

Synonymous Fri 07-Oct-16 11:27:06

None at all as I just don't like them and have never seen a woman who actually looks good in them. hmm

grannybuy Fri 07-Oct-16 11:17:08

One pair! I'm a size 10/12 (10 at the moment as a result of stressful house move), so they suit me well enough, but, like another poster said, I just don't find them a comfortable 'wear'. Lack of fluidity of movement I think.

Garygran Fri 07-Oct-16 11:14:19

I see that some of you ladies have grey jeans. I bought a pair of Jasper Conran J jeans last year when I was in a fat phase. Not great quality or fit but now I am thin again I'm looking to replace.
Any suggestions welcomed - thanks

loopylou Fri 07-Oct-16 10:56:42

Embarrassed to say 19 pairs plus 6 pairs of jeggings blush of the jeans two pairs are for gardening/decorating.

Jeggings-wise I'm undecided whether I should wear them or not, I'm size 14 but need longer tops to cover my bum. Any ideas where to buy nice longer tops?
