Leopard faux fur coat

Pen50 I agree with the other posters who suggest keeping everything else simple and understated and let the coat do the talking. Hope you get lots of pleasure wearing it.( I realise you posted back in February, so I do hope you have had lots of wear out of it - please let us know how you got on).

If you are tallish and slimmish, you will look good in anything.

I bought a dark brown fake fur coat on a whim in a charity shop. It is beautifully warm when the temperature is well below zero, but otherwise, too warm to be really useful.

I bought a leopard print shirt yesterday after reading this post. I had one years ago and had forgotten how much i loved it.

Mazza if you still don't like your leopard coat, I will happily take it off your hands. I can see myself as a latter day Earth Kitt!. I can do the voice too. purrrrr

I'm 60 I have a few pieces of animal prints cloths and love them. Wear it with black trs and maybe black polo neck you will rock it be bold be proud.

Wear it and enjoy it is my advice. I love animal print. I have leopard print pyjama pants, leopard print hat, leopard print scarf all worn often but not at the same time

I mean fake fur of course - the real thing looks so much better on the original owner

I am trying to remember where I was when I saw a woman with real fur hat and coat. She was on the older side of middle aged and a fair bit of makeup. It's ages since I've seen this sort of out fit anywhere in the UK And it was in the Prince Bishop's car park in Durham . So just making your brain think about something does work

Definitely brown boots with a small heel. Simple gold or brown jewellery. Have you thought of having hi lights put in your hair to lift it a bit?

Hope it is not real leopard skin or you really will get noticed and it will not be positive comments you get.

I would say that a decent hair style and a little bit of bling, plus some toned down make-up, plus black clothes should set it off nicely.

I think it's not a look for shrinking violets, you will be noticed. You have to feel (or appear to) confident, and I agree about the makeup, hair and accessories, and basic black clothing.

If you try wearing it and get hopefully some compliments, that will encourage you.

I agree with most of the comments. Wear it with pride. I was keeping my eye on a leopard print coat in M&S outlet, which was being steadily reduced. I finally decided to buy it and it was gone! I was so disappointed.
I'm 61 and 5ft 1ins, I say go for it, just keep the rest simple, no flashy jewellery. If you don't want it, I'll happily take it off your hands. With the right combination of accessories, they can look classy. What does it matter what other people think. How boring it would be if we all had the same tastes. Enjoy your show, wearing your your coat!I bet you get a few envious glances

mazza50 Go for it. I am the same size as you but I am 66 and as long as you keep it classic, I think you can wear most things.I am often complimented on my clothes. Last year on a Bridge weekend one of my friends asked me to go shopping with her for some style ideas,she is 70. It was a huge compliment to be asked. As regards your husbands remarks hummm. Wear your coat with confidence I am sure you will look great. Hope you have fabulous time in Manchester(which I found on visiting to be a fantastic city and very very fashionable whatever age you are. Enjoy

If YOU like the coat (and you bought it so you must do) wear it proudly and ignore what anyone else says.

What to wear with it? Think Bet Lynch and do the opposite. Simple black trousers, plain top, black flattish shoes (ie not stilts), simple accessories for when you're wearing it but a classy looking necklace (yes, you can wear those even with a "short fat neck") for when you take it off.
