Shower gel/bodywash recommendations?

Devastated to find my favourite (Liz Earle) shower body wash was empty this morning, I dug out an " emergency" (Waitrose) bottle I keep for guests who might have forgotten their own. I know, mean of me.
Anyway, I was so disappointed. It was cheap, but had no smell and it was so watery it was like washing with dilute washing up liquid!
So I suspect you get what you pay fir and more expensive products will feel nicer and last longer. But I have run out of Christmas smellies and it's not my birthday for another 3 weeks, so, what to buy?
Recommendations please!!

I only use Santex 0% body wash as I have very itchy skin.
Every now and again I am tempted by gorgeous shower gels recommended in magazines but end up having to go back to Santex. I think it was Mrs Twit from Roald Dahl's 'The Twits' who was described and pictured as scratching her belly. Well that is me if I stray from the path. I could happily use a cheese grater over my bum and tum. If anyone can recommend a similar but more luxurious brand I'd give it a go. Tempted by Liz Earle. Can you only by it on line? hmm

I use supermarket own unperfumed bar soap.

You're embarrassed anno. I hang my head in shame, I use the shampoo that I wash my hair with to wash my body. It's all soap after all.?

Can he bring his bloody jigsaw?

I have very dry skin and always treat myself to a matching shower gel and body lotion (and deodorant if available). Won't go into brands and flavours as some are different here in Germany.

AS for prices, I go for somewhere in the middle - not 2 Euros a bottle (although I do have some of those for "emergencies") but not 50 Euros either - somewhere around 10 - 14 Euros usually.

Yes, do you want him this weekend Greyduster and I will take him Mon to Fri?

Greyduster Fri 24-Feb-17 10:10:14

The mind boggles, roses!!

I love Original Source shower gels, particularly the mango or the lime.
Sponges eat up gels but net scrubbers do make a little go a long way.
* greyduster* have often thought we must be married to the same man, and now there are bars of Wrights Coal Tar soap to prove it! grin

Why feel embarrassed? That's when I buy the Organic Surge and the Argan Oil. I never pay full price, but always have two or three of each.
Wiatrose is the most expensive supermarket.

I feel quite embarrassed. I buy whatever is on offer in Waitrose. blush

dove is lovely makes skin soft, also like avon shower gels. we get through lots at our house, am sure hubby drinks it he uses so much, agree a net scrunchie makes it go farther.

durhamjen Fri 24-Feb-17 09:30:42

I like Organic Surge, too, minimouse.
I also have Argan Oil from Waitrose which comes in a tube, so is easier to take away with you. I have left it behind when staying with family, and have been told it's so nice I can't have it back!
That's okay. I know what to buy for birthday presents.

I was given a Molton brown gift set from my son and daughter in law, for Christmas janeainsworth what a treat!

One of the body washes (can't remember the spelling but its something like Oude/Ouhd/Ouhd) was soooooo gorgeous, I am using it very, very sparingly.

For in the bath I use Dove Silk Bath and wash with a Dove cream bar. I spend up to 1.5 hours in there each morning and never have a wrinkled anything afterwards (except the permanent ones)!
In the shower I like Imperial Leather Foamburst. Used with a scrunchy net thing on a long handle a little goes a long way and gives me a fresh all over feeling.

DH doesn't hold with all this shower gel nonsense! He insists on bars of Wright Coal Tar. ?

Jalima Thu 23-Feb-17 20:12:37

ps I use one of those net scrubbers and it seems to make shower creme/gel lather up much more.

Jalima Thu 23-Feb-17 20:11:42

The one I like is 'Au Lait'

Jalima Thu 23-Feb-17 20:11:01

I bought Fenjal from Boots and it is not overly-scented but seems to be kind to the skin.

Scottish Fine Soaps are lovely; we always use the soap, have recently bought the handwash and now I notice that they do a cream body wash (must look out for that). They do various fragrances but I like the original white one.
