Clinique sunblock

My friend has recently been diagnosed with melanoma skin cancer on her face and she has been advised to use sun protection every time she goes out. Clinique City Block was on the list of recommended skin products to be used because its UVB and SPF was so high. We recently bought it from the Clinique counter in John Lewis, if that helps.

MargaretX I think the sunblock referred to in the OP is for the face, and whilst it may be a good idea to get some sun on arms and legs for Vitamin D, perhaps too much on the face may not be a good thing. And the sun can be strong enough to burn and blister in the UK as I found out when I was young and foolish!

MawBroon even April sun can burn as I found out a couple of weeks ago when we sat out in the garden for lunch (old and still foolish).

DH can burn in the shade of a tree on a cloudy/sunny day through his shirt. He uses Sunblock or Factor 50, wears a Panama hat, lng sleeves and a linen or cotton jacket and stays in the shade at all times.

There is no need for 50 sunblock in Spring. Better get spme sun and fill up your Vit D depot. If you are not out all day in hot sunshine you can take No 13 or 15.
If you have had treatment for skin cancer (not melanoma) it was caused when you lay out all day in the sun in Mallorca or Rimini. You are hardly likely to get it now.

Dermatologists are being blamed for the widespread Vit D deficiency.And of course the pharmaceutical companies are raking in the money from a Northern island like GB.

I need v high protection. I found the Clinique Cityblock SPF 25 easier to use than the 40. Also, Clinique do a range of CC creams with SPF 30 which I also like.
