Two weeks ago DH, DD and I enjoyed a lovely sunny day by sitting in the centre of our local town with our antique stall at a special event street market.
All of us commented that on this hot day, by far the stylish and coolest (in every sense) people we were seeing were ladies of really quite an advanced age.
Two that stick in my mind were one very elderly lady, frail and with a stick, who made beige look good with a light lacy jacket over a cap sleeved top and midi skirt, all different shades of beige that blended beautifully.her hair was immaculate and she was lightly made up. Another lady, who looked nearly as old was tall, large and stately was wearing a long flowing red silk shirt with big yellow parrots on it, over matching plain red trousers and a striking sun hat.
Compared with younger women of all ages in their spaghetti strapped tops and boiled lobster skin and crumpled dresses, elderly women came out as by far the most stylish and 'cool'.
