I'm not sure if it's because my hair is more pourous since hitting the menopause recently, but my highlights just never look right these days.
I usually like the colour when I leave the hairdressers (possibly due to the toner) but within a few washes I just look yellow!
I use lilac shampoo to tone it down - which is great but despite my best efforts it seems to be patchy.
I will try to include a photo of my hair after I had it done last year. I loved this colour but found the salon very 'clicky' with the young hairdressers all chatting between themselves, the chat mostly consisting of slagging villagers off 
I am now working my way round every other hairdressers in the vicinity to find one who will get the colour right but it seems to be impossible!
I really want a 'mink' colour look if possible!
I try to explain what I want but always just get advised to tone the yellow down.
Does anyone know what colours I should ask for?!
