PJ trend

I may go as far as the rubbish bins (about 4ft from back door) in my dressing gown but that's it. Would never go away from the house.
I was amazed a couple weeks ago when at 8.45am, as I was walking to work, I saw a young woman get out of her car dressed in pj's/dressing gown/slippers. Walked across the road into her house after taking children to school. Is there really any need?
I always remember a friend of mine who used to get into her nightwear in the evening and settle down to watch telly. Often her hubby or sons would phone her to pick them up from town (they live in small village 5 mins away) so she would jump into car and come get them. This was before the habit was as common place as now. One evening she'd picked up youngest lad, driving back they had to stop at traffic lights. As she pulled up a "huge" spider dropped down from her sunshade. She yelled and jumped out of the car, son not realising what was wrong did the same as she continued to hop about wondering where the monster had gone lol. She then realised she had her dressing gown etc on! Needed to get back in car!! Dilemma!!!

For me I wouldn't want to be in night clothes all day but I do like something comfortable to wear while relaxing at home - usually leggings and a nice tunic top for winter but a frock in summer. As a nurse I always encouraged people to get up, washed and dressed daily and to take as much gentle exercise around the house as possible.

I don't like pyjamas. I can't sleep when the legs work their way up above my knees. I'm restless before going to sleep, and much prefer a nightdress. I have lounge wear, some lovely fleece trousers, very warm and snuggly, but I only wear them in the evenings when I don't expect to have to go out.

Thanks to gransnet, I have a pair of fleeced lined leggings and they are wonderful. Warm, comfortable and I can move freely in them so did lots of cleaning yesterday. But definitely indoor clothes.
Might have to buy 2 more pairs.....

I couldnt wear my PJ's all day i love my morning shower and certainly wouldnt put PJs back on after that.

I have jogging bottoms that are a bit past there sell by date which i wear indoors with tshirt or warm tops,but i would never wear when going outside.

Then i have my clothes for going out in which if only worn for a couple of hours and still clean are put on hangers and hung outside wardrobe to 'air' before putting back in wardrobe.

I just wish I could get a decent pair of cotton jersey pjs.
I've bought a few pairs online - J. Lewis, M&S - and they were rubbish. Either poor quality or a strange shape.
As for changing, I wouldn't go out in pjs, except maybe to hang out the washing.

I don't change when I get in but I do have a different set of clothes that are only worn on days I don't leave the house.

You need a 'worn before drawer', starbird. I introduced the idea when my daughter was a teen. One of my better ideas.

I've got two pyjama bottoms that I bought from M&S that are black with a small floral pattern and they look pretty much like something you could west to go out in. I'd give anything to get more pairs of them as I'm happy to wear them throughout the day (which, now I'm retired, I tend to do most of the time). Can't find any the same (have looked online).

Yes I change to go out and change back as soon as I return, into loser, comfortable old clothes. If I should happen to then sleep in them all night, or if I stay in pj’s during theg day, I still wash my face and hands and wear clean nickers. I would not be able to bear smelling unpleasant.
The trouble is I end up with lots of clothes hanging around, worn for a few hours and not ready for the wash but not clean to put back in the wardrobe.

I'm too lazy to keep getting changed.

I agree with what Monica says. To take it a step further does anyone like else have three sets of clothes - nightwear, clothes for in the house and clothes for going out? I always change into my indoor clothes when I get in - old stuff that does not ever need ironing. It also means the outtdoor stuff lasts longer before it needs a wash.

I don't sleep in PJ's or a nightie, so I think if I wandered around during the day in my sleep suit, there might be a bit of consternation lol.
I won one pair of pyjamas and they're kept in the drawer for when I'm in hospital which has been fairly frequent in the last couple of years, but I don't wear them at home.

However I do wear straight bottomed jogging pants and a tunic top at home, i find them very comfortable, not at all restricting, but I wouldn't wear them to go out of the house.
