anybody used serims for eyelash growth.. mine are getting shorter and sparser .
Looking at branded options Rapid lash NYi etc and also reading about castor oil I want genuine reviews I can trust which I know I will find here as opposed to product endorsements elsewhere.! Also I am sure older eyelashes will react differently to younger ones as the hair growing cycle is different post menopause ...

Ladies...
Tell me please, Where does one buy Revitalash from?
And could you put it on the eyebrows

I have been using latanaprost for a few months, but no eyelash growth
A lady i was sat next to in the eue clinic said hers grew so long she had to trim them, and she had one eyelash that was dangling on her cheek, before she realised it was an eyelash
What are you using*S*tevej

I have eyelash extensions done every four weeks and they are amazing. No need for mascara. Over the month some of them drop out and they are replaced at each session. It takes about 50 mins. The first session cost me £50 and the infill sessions cost £30. Other beauticians charge less but the lady who does mine is a Master Technician and has won loads of awards. I wouldn’t be without my extensions now.

Gma 29 I have my eyelashes permed about every ten weeks to cope with the thick lashes that start to ingro, giving me the feeling I have spiders before my eyes.

If you are unlucky enough to have glaucoma like I have ,one of the drops I have to use daily for life makes the eyelashes grow thicker and also darkens the skin around the edge of the eye, making it look as though I have eyeliner on all the time. When the doctor was telling me about the drawbacks of using these drops I told him this was about forty years too late.

Me too with the vaseline been doing it for years and also stopped mascara just don't think it suits older women somehow just sticking with the eye shadow

I apparently have two types of alopecia and have lost not only frontal hair from hairline but eyebrows and the rest of my body hair. I now have very thin eyelashes. I also have glaucoma and was told by my optician that there is a medication for it which makes eyelashes grow. This must be the one some posters describe. I have never had the nerve to ask to change to this medication as it feels so vain.

I could not tattoo eyebrows as the wrinkles on my forehead are so uneven it would look ridiculous! I cope by ignoring it and thinking I look normal. No one has ever commented (except my DGC)!!!

Loreal do a primer mascara about £11 .00 Bought by mistake but it's really made my eyelashes thicker and healthier. Hope this helps.

My glaucoma drops have made my lashes very long. Only thing is, I now get fine dark hairs under my eyes as well.

My once amazingly dark and strong eyebrows have all but disappeared. Just had to do a bit of dye on what remains. Chin hair, however, is prolific. Nature is cruel at times.

I used to get mine tinted but I could not stand keeping my eyes closed for 10 minutes in a dark room. I got a panic attack. So stopped.

My lashes are naturally quite long, but very fine, so without loads of mascara are a bit 'meh'!
I'm lazy and can't be bothered to use serums every night, so they're not the best solution for me.
For DS's wedding, I had semi permanent lashes done, individual lashes being glued onto my own, they cost £95 but it was a special occasion and they looked fabulous!
Of course, as my own lashes dropped out, so did the extensions, but I loved the look, so for a few months I had infills done, at a cost of £60 every three weeks. However, I soon gave up on that as £20 a week for long eyelashes is ridiculous, even though they did look great!
I'd recommend them for a special 'do', but as a long term solution, they're very expensive!

My sister-in-law swears by Rapid Lash. Can't comment myself as I'd just bought some when I was diagnosed by the optician as having an allergy, so I haven't used it!

Sielha Sat 20-Oct-18 18:38:41

Rapid Lash definitely works but you have to persevere and it takes about 6 weeks to see any difference.

I always use an eyelash curler before mascara which helps them to look thicker.
But don’t do as I once did and sneeze while curling them! Most of my eyelashes ended up on the curler !! I was mortified, but they did grow back eventually.

notgoneyet Sat 20-Oct-18 15:04:34

Me too Jessiecake. I have my eyebrows tattooed - it makes such a difference. But hate the fact that eyelashes, particularly bottom ones, are so sparse. Not a question of growing them longer; more to the point is growing them at all! I've been on Levothyroxine for about 40 years, allegedly at the right doseage, checked annually. Despite that, loss of hair including eyelashes/eyebrows sad

Juliepuk Sat 20-Oct-18 14:41:17

My lashes have gone so thin that I can't use my lash curler anymore as they just chop off my lashes. Used revitalash for years and it works but you need to give it time. I'm trying castor oil now but may swop to vaseline.

patpat1 Sat 20-Oct-18 14:25:19

My eyelashes and eyebrows have disappeared completely, I have no idea why! Anyone got any suggestions?

Pudding123 Sat 20-Oct-18 13:41:13

Sorry should have said revitalash

Pudding123 Sat 20-Oct-18 13:40:29

I use revisions from QVC it is quite expensive but it does work and boosts your confidence but as grandtanteJe65 asks i also could do with help with thinning hair at the front especially ..thanks

grandtanteJE65 Sat 20-Oct-18 13:03:12

I have always used Cllinque mascara due to allergies, and have not noticed any difference in my eyelashes post menopause, although my hair has thinned considerably.

Any suggestions on how to promote hair growth again or at least stop it thinning?

janeainsworth Sat 20-Oct-18 13:01:42

basslady you need to start a separate thread for advice about your DD, or better still ask on Mumsnet where they will have more recent experience.

I’ve found castor oil helpful for eyebrows which thinned because if under active thyroid.

Funnygran Sat 20-Oct-18 12:59:37

As well as my eyelashes becoming sparse, my eyebrows are also very thin. My hairdresser friend said it’s because I pluck them but I haven’t done that since I was in my 30’s. I dye what’s left and it does make a difference. I suppose a serum might work on brows as well as lashes?

mabon1 Sat 20-Oct-18 12:48:42

I disagree with the woman who says having eyelashes dyed is wonderful. I had mine dyed once, it was a total waste if money. Back to Maybelline brown/black waterproof mascara (other mascaras are available).

LilyBlue Sat 20-Oct-18 11:33:31

I’ve used Revitalash in the past.
I KNOW it worked for me.
The eyelashes on my right eye were very short and sparse compared to my left eye. I was using glaucoma eye drops in my left eye only.
I used Revitalash on my right eyelashes for a couple of months and they grew to be longer than the left. I had to stop using it for a while. Then restarted again when I needed to.
I now have to use the drops in both eyes so I don’t need to use anything at the moment.
