I use good old Vosene medicated shampoo, don't see the point of spending a lot on hair products. Never use conditioner.

Only wash my hair every three days and use Klorane shampoo mostly ( it’s lovely) not sold in many places so we order online.Sometimes buy the Aussie shampoo for a change, it seems to be good, and yes, don’t use too much as well.I never use conditioner.

I have to buy organic non-allergenic products because I have had excema in my hair and have skin allergies. Having said that I just walk into Holland and Barrett and buy which ever organic non-allergenic shampoo and conditioner matches my bathroom decor.

I really do not think there is anything to choose between the different products. The base for all of them is the same base as used in washing up liquid and the rest of it is scent, minute quantities (1% or less, usually) of substances supposed to be good for hair and advertising hype.

I read that the best thing you can do for your hair is shampoo it less often and use less shampoo. I used to do mine daily as it was very Wurzel Gummage but now I wash and shampoo every three days and its much better and takes up far less time and electricity!

I agree too much choice is confusing , I thought I'd stop using conditioner for a couple of days, to be honest it's now 8 days without and I cannot see any difference in my hair in fact it's actually a bit more manageable confused I'll use it once in a while from now on .

Reminds me of the time I was walking past a Chinese herbalist practice. There was a poster in the window "Do you have ..." then listing a variety of ailments. I had slight elements of them all except one for which I lacked the necessary equipment!

I know what you mean about shampoos too. Mine is coloured, fine, dry, damaged and can be dull sometimes. Other times (very few) it swishes around like a Harmony hairspray advert. at least I think it does; others may disagree. Makes me wonder how our mums managed when it was dandruff shampoo or not and conditioner was a once in a while treat. --

Does anyone else find the array of hair products available totally baffling? I usually stick to a specific brand of shampoo and conditioner that suit my hair. But I've heard say we should change our shampoo occasionally. So gazing at the products on the supermarket shelves. Picked on a well known brand. The first bottle of shampoo said it was for colour treated hair. That's for me I thought. But the next bottle said it was for damaged hair. Mmm, thats my hair too. Next bottle gave extra body for fine hair. My hair is fine. Next bottle was moisturizing for dry hair. My hair can feel bit dry at ends. And then there was the bottle which offered super shine. For goodness sake, I'm 62 my hair needs all of the above! By now I'm wondering if I could get a large bowl and mix all the bottles together and then I would have gorgeous golden tresses. But instead I took the easy option and bought my usual shampoo! I would like to add that my hair doesn't look like a transplant from a scarecrow that's been in a storm, so I'm not looking for miracles, just a simple choice that doesn't make my head hurt. Next stop the wines aisles!
