We loved the dress.....now buy the shirt ?

I read that post of 10.33.36, and thought, well the anaesthetic hasn't got out of my system yet. Did anyone understand it?

My apologies, I must have had a brain storm. Henceforth I will be a perfect lady.

I'm waiting till it turns up on the sale rail in M&S - pre-Christmas, I predict.

It really is a toss up between this and the pink monstrosity- I think that the latter wins.

I did enter my home-made one in a craft show and won first prize.
Someone asked me if it was really a M&S one with the labels cut out.

Good God, I almost thought it was something I had made and forgotten about. Yes, my sewing is that bad.

It's official! M&S really has given up! I was walking past our local shop (Bracknell) yesterday and stopped to see if they'd got anything interesting in the windows. One side had some fairly boring men's wear, mainly beige. The other side had half a dozen mannequins wearing bras and knickers, again mainly beige! Who on earth is going to rush into a store with their wallet at the ready because there are some knickers in the window? Who do they think they are attracting?

Well, I finished my shirt!!

The back is a bit longer than the front, one sleeve is shorter than the other, couldn't be helped as I ran out of fabric.
The pocket had to be finished in some leftover red and gold Christmassy fabric as I ran out of tartan.

However - you will pleased to know that it looks just as good, if not better, than the M&S version!

However, as it doesn't fit me I can't post a photo, sorry.

I don't see much wrong with it - I'd like it in a lighter colour though.

I still cannot make up my mind about it. I do think though that the breast pocket would have looked better if the stripes were going down to match the opposite side, instead of at an angle, to balance it up a bit.

Very hurt GrannyGravy. I love it. I wear it with pride and (mis)matching trousers.
On a more serious note its not nearly as bad as the Germoline dress.
