I bought a pack of 3 pairs of thick socks, a thick winter weight zip up hoodie, a lovely long sleeve brushed cotton tunic, 5 strappy vests to go under cardigans and 2 long sleeved white t shirts for just under £35 from Primark. The quality is as good, if not better than M&S, and a fraction of the cost.

I have even given up buying M&S knickers because I can buy good quality elsewhere cheaper.

I may visit my local M&S tomorrow to see if there are bargains I cannot leave there.

You have done a good job. Nice dress so far. LOL!

Nice outfit. I love the pattern.

I might buy the skirt for DGS. He could use it as a camouflage, over his head like a burka, when he goes out on frog and newt observing.

Pittcity Tue 04-Sept-18 15:24:40

The blouse would be OK with plain trousers, but the skirt.......?

Jane10 Tue 04-Sept-18 14:50:56

How very dare you! I almost bought this as I had a discount on my sparks card for blouses but I checked the small print and it was for £5 off items of £30 and over. That blouse was £29.50!!

Animal prints are definitely in this Autumn.
Now, can I get away with it or would I look like old moggy dressed as kitten?

Just got an email entitled , "Get ready to fall in love" ....
.....with leopard print......
bit.ly/2LUM7iL and the shirt to match bit.ly/2M1ekEE
Apparantly they are "the essential buys you need to have in your wardrobe"!!

M0nica Sat 25-Aug-18 16:15:43

A bit like The Tiger who came to Tea.

annsixty Sat 25-Aug-18 08:39:44

Online only, leopard print midi afternoon tea dress if you are desperate.

annsixty Sat 25-Aug-18 08:33:23

Anyone seen the leopard print number?
It is a winner, I can't do the clever thing and show you.

I used to be an avid M&S fan - remember when Twiggy did those adverts? Not bought anything in there for years now cos everything is awful.
I thing M&S is struggling these days - such a pity when you remember how good they used to be.

My DH isn't quite that bad yet. I have taken a couple of garments back after his comments.

Nanna58 Sun 19-Aug-18 14:33:17

To be honest would love to have it as Mr C never, ever seems to notic what I wear and that outfit would be the ultimate litmus test that he has gone ‘ wife blind’! ??

Nanna58 Sun 19-Aug-18 14:31:00

I beg your pardon Chewbacca ! That is now my ‘ go to ‘ outfit for very special occasions loool !

Chewbacca Sun 19-Aug-18 14:17:42

Hell's teeth Nanna58! That dress looks like it's to wear to the Ugly Bug Ball!

Telly Sun 19-Aug-18 12:27:17

We should have a competition for someone that's identifies the most item that go in the 50% sale.

Scribbles Sun 19-Aug-18 12:17:55

Oh, if only that green dress also came in Germolene pink! That would really set me apart at the upcoming Old Girls' society lunch.

annsixty Sun 19-Aug-18 11:44:11

I have to say that M&S have some better clothes on their website than it would seem they do in the stores.
I haven't been in one for many months, just Simply Food which we have 10 mins away.

Jane10 Sun 19-Aug-18 11:14:53

Ladies, shopping like plebs is your problem- head over to comme de garçons to see what you could look like if you splashed a little cash!

SpringyChicken Sat 18-Aug-18 21:08:22

I'm going to buck the trend here. I was in M&S last week and actually bought something!

I was in M&S today. There were several versions of that style of dress. It's aimed at the Muslim community who have to be covered from chin down and sleeves to wrists. They were all pretty depressing. I don't think they'll sell round here.
I did see some nice blouses in good quality fabrics. My neice arrived for lunch today in an M&S coat that I'd rejected as too boring. Looked fine on her and she's in her 20s. Not sure what that means.
