I thought she looked great. She has lost a lot of weight and I really liked her dress, with the flattering shape. No veil, just a tiara keeping it more simple. She looked so happy.
Best of luck to them.

I was surprised that Beatrice is on her own behind granny & grandpa. She always looks a little startled.
paddyann would you usually put the maid of honour with the best man?

paddyann Sun 14-Oct-18 22:29:29

she sat in the chair that was set out for her Annie and groups were built around her .If you'll read my group set up I never said anyone should sit in front of her I said Grandparents usually sat at the front of the group .But then what would I know I've only been in this industry for nearly 50 years .The chairs should have been set out differently and thats down to bad communication between the photographer and the couple whose wedding it was.All things are possible where the arrangements have been made beforehand .As I said before he's not a wedding photographer, thats a very different discipline to fashion .

To be fair I can’t say I look at many royal photographs Annie but my guess would be never. It doesn’t change my mind that the family group photo of Eugenie's wedding was so wrong to have shunted her mother off to the side. I doubt we will ageee but that’s fine .

gilly, I think protocol comes into it, when do we ever seen photographs of queenie sitting or standing at the end of a group , or anyone sitting in front of her.

gillybob Sun 14-Oct-18 22:10:26

Yes indeed elfies .

I would imagibe her maj sits anywhere she wants to Annie

Eugenie made a lovely bride. She looked so happy. Loved the dress and the tiara. I thought Fergie looked fabulous in her green outfit. Is it me or does little Charlotte look just like the Queen? I think the resemblance is striking.

Anniebach Sun 14-Oct-18 21:28:50

Was the queen easy to sit as you wanted her to Paddyann?

Nanny41 Sun 14-Oct-18 21:12:04

I think Eugenie looked lovely the dress was elegant and simple her Husband looked so handsome and they looked so in love. I wish them years of happiness

paddyann Sun 14-Oct-18 20:56:46

yes we have .As sole photographers on a Scottish visit .Not something we publicise though or our other high profile shoots .The negatives are still in the files though .

Anniebach Sun 14-Oct-18 20:46:29

You have photographed the queen Paddyann?

paddyann Sun 14-Oct-18 20:42:48

hopefully Annie,in the past they used royal photographers like Armstrong Jones and Lichfield who were family but not dedicated wedding photographers we have photographed the queen in the past and heads of state like Clinton so I do know regardless of WHO you're photographing the job must be done right

Anniebach Sun 14-Oct-18 20:29:24

Does anyone who has trained photograph the queen ?

elfies Sun 14-Oct-18 20:18:49

Sarah and Andrew seem to care a lot for each other and I'd love to see them get remarried . Their divorce diverted attention from Charles problems nicely didn't it ?
How two faced of Philip to criticise Fergies antics , how dare he ?

paddyann Sun 14-Oct-18 20:15:50

any one who has had training will know the group should be built from the centre,Groom to the brides right ,his mother next to him ,her father next to her ,his dad beside his mum,his best man at the end,her mother next to her father her sister beside her ,GP at the front with children evenly spaced and LOOKING at the camera.Anyone coming back with a group like that would be in deep do do,A professional knows that control of the group is almost as important as their talent ,if you cant be in control of whats happening then you shouldn't be in the job

Jalima1108 Sun 14-Oct-18 19:32:23

Well, I didn't think they were great although I can understand why Sarah is positioned as she is

Jalima1108 Sun 14-Oct-18 19:31:54

gillybob I shouldn't laugh but I am spluttering into my wine

Anniebach Sun 14-Oct-18 19:28:47

I think it is safe to say the photographer is a professional photographer

Wow paddyann where were you when I needed you ? DH and I were married in 1999 and our photos were so bad I refused to take them out of the shop ( although he insisted I paid in full which I did) I’ve got a few amateur photos but even they were better than the so called professionals . One is so funny I wish I could share it . Basically it’s me and DH in the Park in front of a pretty lake except that a swan has its neck ( but not head) coming out of my side and I look like a coffee mug ! grin

Anniebach Sun 14-Oct-18 19:12:39

What family issues can be seen?

gillybob Sun 14-Oct-18 19:12:26

Well what I know about photography I could write on a postage stamp but I still think that “family” group photo is appalling. Poor Mother (and father) of the bride shoved to one side just doesn’t seem or look right to me .

paddyann Sun 14-Oct-18 19:01:03

its a very badly posed group ,as a photographer of over 4000 weddings in my career I can assure you its not a well balanced formal group at all. I've been inundated with calls and msgs from friends in the indusry who are appalled at it,was it a case of using a hobbyist who doesn't understand that family issues shouldn't be seen in the final images? Certainly no professional with any experience would get away with handing this to the happy couple .

MagicWriter2016 Sun 14-Oct-18 19:00:39

I thought Eugenie looked stunning, better even than Harry’s new wife ( have forgot her name). Her and her new husband looked so in love and she was just radiant. I am not really a fan of the royals and do think her mum and sister and her have had to put up with a lot of ‘abuse’ from the public over the years, so good on her having the sort of day she wanted. And her granny is the queen after all!

gillybob Sun 14-Oct-18 18:55:56

Will have to agree to disagree . I think the mother of the bride should have been more central than sister or granny and grandpa.

gillybob Sun 14-Oct-18 18:52:21

Just what I said upthread Jalima little Mia looks bored stiff.

Jalima1108 Sun 14-Oct-18 18:20:24

In the photos I've seen Mia Tindall looks fed up and a bit grumpy.
Probably needing her lunch, poor girl.
and thinking 'get me out of this frock and into some jeans please'.
