I thought she looked great. She has lost a lot of weight and I really liked her dress, with the flattering shape. No veil, just a tiara keeping it more simple. She looked so happy.
Best of luck to them.

Fergie looked like she was wearing three pairs of Spanx

I could wear 100 pairs and not look anywhere as good as she did in that dress avalon

Fergie looked like she was wearing three pairs of Spanx. Agree Meghan should lighten up. Beatrice looked elegant but stiff, compared to the wedding guests. Had to be a difficult day for her.

I always thought it was “red and green should not be seen” ...... except through the eyes of an Irish queen or except on the shirts of a football team .

People with red hair (SF) do look good in emerald green .

Re the colour clash, my mother used to say that 'blue and green should never be seen' - but then just look at nature and all the lovely blue flowers with green petals and that rule is broken constantly.

I thought her dress was absolutely stunning. She looked amazing.

I thought Eugenie looked really beautiful in her perfect dress. She was the star of the show and has never looked so good.

On the other hand, I though Beatrice looked very middle-aged and old-fashioned and I wasn't keen on the colour clash between her and her Mother's dresses.

As for Sarah - she doesn't change does she? My Mum would have called her a hoyden. Her dress was just too bright and tight and looked uncomfortable. She needs to tone everything down, including her behaviour in public.

I believe the CofE ruling is Weddings must be conducted during the hours of daylight ie. before sundown, I may be wrong
Yes, I posted that - was it this thread or the other one?

I thought the influence on the dress was the current 'Victoria' television series. It looked lovely and for once was very tasteful. It suited her very well.

I loved the dress, I too was pleased to see shoulders & arms covered.

Was there any conversation between Fergie and those sitting behind her, including the queen and prince Phillip?

I did think Fergie was undignified and hyper running across the road to great people when she arrived and puffing out her cheeks when she was sitting down, she might have been a bit more comfortable if her dress wasn't so tight fitting.

I loved Eugunie's dress and without a veil it showed off her hair and the scar.

I hated all the comparison with Harry and Megan's wedding.

Her dress was gorgeous, and the dress she wore for the evening celebrations was absolutely stunning , the cut showed off her figure so well, and the colour was beautiful !

Robbie and Ayda Williams were accompanied by Ayda's mum.

Eugenie looked lovely in her dress, I thought that it was very medieval in style. Could imagine one of those cone shaped head dresses with it.

nannygreencar Sun 14-Oct-18 11:42:50

To get back to the dress, I was so pleased to see that she showed her scar with pride. I have a scar that goes round my neck and then a long thick one from the middle of the base of my neck all the way down to between my breasts. I had a rare muscle disease, but was fortunate that my operation was a success. If it hadn't of been my sons would not be here (as I was told my body would not be able to cope with pregnancy and labour) and I would probably be in a wheelchair. Do I have it on show (yes!) or wear high necks - the hell I do. I show my scar with pride and thankful for how lucky I have been. Sorry if this sounds a bit of a me, me rant, but wanted to say how encouraging it was to see the lovely bride show her scar with pride!

Unless anyone here is a relative or a royal household employee etc we are all picking our information from the press/media, mixing it with our life experience, political (small p) & social values and coming up with our 'own' opinions!

Anniebach Sun 14-Oct-18 11:35:25

I thought Is was black too. Not a flattering colour for her, be it navy or black.

Jalima1108 Sun 14-Oct-18 11:32:50

I thought it was black at first and thought 'Noooo'

sassenach512 Sun 14-Oct-18 11:32:00

I thought Meghan might have gone for a more cheerful colour, she seems to be going with Victoria Beckham's trend of always wearing navy these days

gillybob Sun 14-Oct-18 11:30:54

Of course none of us know anything Annie

Anniebach Sun 14-Oct-18 11:22:48

Do we know truthfully how Phillip feels about her? Only what the press tell us.

We were told how cold he was towards Diana untill her family released the letter of kindness he wrote to her,

Jalima1108 Sun 14-Oct-18 11:19:53

and possibly his own if rumours have any truth in them gillybob.

Of course, men are allowed …..

gillybob Sun 14-Oct-18 11:16:52

I think the Royal family, Prince Philip in particular will never forgive Fergie for the financial advisor/toe sucking episode

Perhaps they should look at their own offsprings “episodes” MrsMopp hmm

quizqueen Sun 14-Oct-18 11:15:21

Her dress reminded me of the pink one Aurora wore in Disney's Sleeping Beauty but it showed off her figure nicely. However, it was certainly better than Meghan's sack like one although she seems to have stared a trend for the 'off the shoulder' look! For once, Beatrice looked good.

sassenach512 Sun 14-Oct-18 11:12:26

Does anyone know why Robbie Williams brought his mum?
I thought he wasn't very gallant, when her hat blew off and he didn't make any effort to get it back for her, some guy behind them retrieved it for her.

mrsmopp Sun 14-Oct-18 11:09:55

I think the Royal family, Prince Philip in particular will never forgive Fergie for the financial advisor/toe sucking episode. Though he is certainly no angel, but then it's different for men, isn't it??
