Has anyone used this company - any comments? TIA

I have never heard of them before and have been moaning about not being able to get wool jumpers any more for a reasonable price. I've just had a look at the site and am quite impressed. What I particularly like is that they have some styles with boat necks which, I think, are flattering. I can't wear polos or round necks and some of the scoop necks and v necks are just too low. Who wants to show off a wrinkly decolletage. I shall take the plunge and order.

They used to be great, huge price increase.

I have bought 2 sweaters and a zip cardigan at different times this winter. I wear them all regularly, all have been washed and they are all still as good as new.

Sleeves are a good fit and not too long. The problem is that we are all different shapes, even all those of the same size, and when all is said and done, one size does not fit all

Bought DH a cashmere jumper for Christmas, had to exchange it as it was much smaller than the same size bought previously. He also bought himself a merino long sleeved sweater with collar. Both are bobbling quite badly, I'm very disappointed.

Woolovers looks very old fashioned, perhaps it’s just recently ( maybe they did a poll and found older customers only order from them.)????

UPDATE!

The 2 cardigans bought for MR. P (mentioned somewhere ^ there) have developed what seems to be faults around the button holes. sad

I was given one of their fairisle ones from my sister in law, as she had grown out of it, and I have worn it to death and it washes beautifully. In fact it so comfy, I found another one on ebay for less than a fiver which I am wearing as we speak. 100% pure wool.

"There's no call for it" Greta - to which the answer is "I'm calling for it!"

Something has happened to sizes! They all seem to have graduated down. Is this to flatter us, I wonder. I have always been small and slim but now it's getting ridiculous with some clothes - even size 8 is too big on me. This is not right. I have not shrunk.
Shoes can be tricky if you are a size 3. I'm often told size 3 is 'not popular' any more and then I'm directed to the children's department.

I used to be Woolovers greatest fan but sadly their styling and colours have been dreary beyond belief and the sizing all over the place for the last couple of years.
I miss them!

I've just had their latest brochure through the post and must say that I'm disappointed, nothing has inspired me.

Perhaps there is more online.

Missfoodlove I didn't realise that TK Maxx are online!

TK maxx often have their products online.

I have been very disappointed with Woolovers. They are no longer on my list. I am always looking for reasonably priced good quality cardigans and sweaters. Don’t like synthetics as they are not warm enough. I have tried M and S cashmere. Used to be ok but their quality has nosedived. My favourite for quality now is Orvis. Excellent cotton and wool. Try their clearance section. Real bargains. Shhhhh dont tell everyone! Or there will be nothing left!

I do have a lovely turquoise greeny long edge to edge Woolovers cardigan my son sent me last year for Christmas. I love it but find it hard to find the right thing to wear underneath. He lives very near Burgess Hill and I have a collection of Christmas presents from there! One is a pure wool long button up grey cardigan but it is very heavy (sheep must develop strong muscles) and itchy round the neck unless I wear a polo neck underneath, and I have to swap it for something thinner if I need to go out with a coat on.

A bit too far from me (NE England).
Younger son's inlaws live in Burgess Hill.

maryeliza54 Thu 15-Nov-18 20:15:24

Fennell the factory shop is in Burgess Hill

EllanVannin Thu 15-Nov-18 19:28:21

Early 80's I bought an Alpaca jumper while I was in Australia. It was fabulous for many winters here----at a cost back then of around $ 200 aud dollars, very dear but I only threw it out a couple of weeks ago ( in a charity bag )

Fennel Thu 15-Nov-18 18:54:17

Where is that, maryeliza?

maryeliza54 Thu 15-Nov-18 18:50:14

I’ve just found out that the Woolovers factory shop is not too far from me so I’ll pop over soon and maybe get a bargain. I’m just so desperate for something in wool ( and other natural fibres)

M0nica Thu 15-Nov-18 17:11:39

I think most sweaters bobble, although currently neither of my woolover ones haven't

luluaugust Thu 15-Nov-18 16:53:19

I have two jumpers from them which haven't bobbled and a Guernsey which really too warm. Never had any problem with purchasing.

cangran Thu 15-Nov-18 10:07:03

I have bought several items over the years although not so many lately. I did buy a lacy wool cardigan with a discount voucher recently. It's very nice apart from the long arms problem that others have mentioned. I've found that the merino/cashmere mix does bobble but have had cable knit jumpers in the past that were better/didn't show the bobbling. One thing I don't like about this company is that, unlike most others, there isn't a free returns service, and that puts me off ordering unless I'm pretty sure the item will be ok.

M0nica Thu 15-Nov-18 08:56:05

These days size and proportion are so random, I barely look at size.

I am much the same dimensions as I was in my 20s, but shorter. In my 20s I was a size 14, now I am, on average, a size 10, but a few years ago I had in my wardrobe, and wore regularly, because they fitted me, clothes with every size on them from 8 - 18 shock
