If you've seen or bought any lovely party dresses or outfits, please share them on this thread. tchsmile

Lovely outfit.

I have couple of glam dresses, but find it so hard to find shoe wear to put with them. Feel the cold. Want to wear sheepskin boots, scarf and fleece over me! Also hate going out at night in the winter!

Unless of course we have delusions of grandeur about ourselves

Thank you Riverwalksmile

gabriella I assume you’re referring to my comment that anyone can look good in a Bombshell dress.
By that I meant that they suit all figure types.
You asked ‘who wants to be just anyone?’ But let’s face it, we are all ‘just anyone’, aren’t we? Unless of course we have delusions of grandeur about ourselves.
Sorry to have confused you.

Jane I think you could have a second career as a mature model!

You look great in that dress - if I had your long shapely legs I'd take the dress up an inch or two and show off my pins. smile

I wonder if I have the same black blouse Sheilasue. From M and S about 12 -15 years ago. I always think the silver stitching looks like fireworks going off!

GabriellaG Sat 24-Nov-18 15:59:18

...and who wants to be 'anyone' JA...eh?

GabriellaG Sat 24-Nov-18 15:57:23

If anyone can honestly say (without laughing) that the four women on the BombshellHQ video, look 'timeless and elegant' especially the two in lace and pink floral, they need locking up.

Jalima1108 Sat 24-Nov-18 15:33:07

Dresses for women who want to hide their upper arms and tummy.

I'm off to google them - that sounds just what I need!! tchgrin

I must say that you look very elegant in yours janea; however I doubt I will look elegant in anything, never have!

janeainsworth Sat 24-Nov-18 15:17:27

mabon don’t be put off by the negative comments about Bombshell dresses.
They’re timeless and elegant, made with beautiful fabrics and suit anyone.

I just googled Ladies navy velvet trousers and saw some with a bit of sparkle in Boden online. perfect for twisting into those super-cool dance moves. They're cheap for cotton velvet, I thought!
When I clicked on them they have ages 3, 4 and 5 left.

Very traditional combination of red and bottle green for me with the aforementioned annual bling airing lifting the lot. Sometimes push the boat out by wearing the cracker hat but only if it is colour co-ordinated of course!

I've started from the bottom up! Bought some statement boots 40% off smile, they haven't arrived yet.
My dress will be a choice from past purchases of which will fit me the best at the time.

There are some lovely velvet outfits in the Joe Browns catalogue but touching velvet sets my teeth on edge.

Jalima1108 Sat 24-Nov-18 12:52:26

I need some midnight blue velvet trousers because I bought a rather nice but not OTT top in a local boutique which has now closed - I thought the top was black and a paler blue + a dash of silver and would go with my black velvet trousers, but in fact it's dark navy and a paler blue.

Should have gone to Specsavers.

I love reading what you are all wearing. I favour wearing mostly trousers all winter and shorts all summer. We’re going to a couple of different spa hotels over Christmas to visit spread out family so it’s a bathrobe for me & my normal coloured jeggings & assortment of season appropriate White Stuff tunic tops.

lesley4357 Sat 24-Nov-18 12:29:28

Plain black knee length dress with boots and lots of accessorised jewellery. Patterns make me feel old and matronly

Millie22 Sat 24-Nov-18 12:26:49

All those outfits look a bit too 'old hat' to me. Who wears clothes like that.

HootyMcOwlface Sat 24-Nov-18 12:08:57

Oh dear, Gransnet, your ‘stylish bloggers’ have been having you on! I think you should give them the sack! grin

newnanny Sat 24-Nov-18 11:59:57

I bought 2 party dresses at BON Marche about three years ago in red and petrol blue. They were a size too small and I bought in after Xmas sale. I have been on a diet and they both fit now so I am sorted for Xmas and New Year.tchsmile

Google 'bombshell and you'll see that it's run by a woman named Katya. Dresses for women who want to hide their upper arms and tummy.
Frankly, IMO they're awful and the woman doing the most talking (with short blonde hair) looks dreadful in the clothes. Can see her knicker and bra lines in the blue dress and as for the mum and daughter...'nuff said. shockgrin

mabon1 Sat 24-Nov-18 11:42:29

What is a Bombshell frock please?

Speldnan Sat 24-Nov-18 11:39:22

Haven’t been to a party since the millennium NYE so wouldn’t buy a party dress!

Sheilasue Sat 24-Nov-18 11:22:49

I have a lovely black blouse I brought from M&S years ago with silver pattern on it I love it, it’s so stylish so that comes out for high days and holidays as mum used to say.
Also have a new blouse with dogs on with Christmas hats on.
I like blouses that are outside trousers or leggings, more comfortable.
