size 18 ish maybe? An older lady with shoulder length grey hair wearing, a pleated checked skirt ( mostly greys), knee length boots, a grey top with a checked woolen poncho, a soft grey beret and orange lipstick.

It looked brilliant.

I can't bear things high up on my neck either which is a pity as I used to love polo neck sweaters.

I stated on another thread a few weeks ago that I'm not a fan of scarves for the same reason but I did buy a lovely one in Fat Face this morning to wear on Christmas Day. DD's cottage is quite hippy dippy so it will be all candles and mood lighting. I'll be wearing a black top to show off the silver earrings I hope I'm getting so the red patterned scarf I spotted should brighten up the look.

Both the links that Lisa put up are my style.
You should note that in not one of those pictures was there a print.
The only pattern I wear are spots or stripes and they are nearly always navy.
I have the identical tan coat in the Pinterest link and it goes without saying that everyone owns a blazer, white shirt/ trousers/ jeans, don't they?

I splashed out and had my colours done a while ago. Enjoyable experience and learnt quite a lot. If only I could find stylish shoes/boots that I can walk a long
way in. Hotter are good but still get uncomfortable after walking a few miles. Afraid I wear jeans a lot as so practical

oldbatty.....over several threads you constantly have a pop at Gabriella it’s starting to look very very odd!

oldbatty Tue 11-Dec-18 17:20:27

Gabs, whatevs. snip snip snippy.

I know...but what has her age got to do with me buying a skirt?

GabriellaG54 Tue 11-Dec-18 17:11:49

oldbatty
There was no need to be snippity about a jokey remark I made.
It's good to know that your memory serves you well, however, in future in order not to ruffle your feathers, I'll refrain from making comments on anything you post.
I'm bewildered by your obvious dislike but c'est la vie. (sigh)
Best wishes

Ah yes, Holly W - she’s quite a bit younger though

lemongrove Tue 11-Dec-18 16:56:28

Me neither, which is a shame as I used to love polo neck and cowl neck jumpers.

GabriellaG54 Tue 11-Dec-18 16:35:59

Very nice MawBroon...dressy.
Alas, I can't stand things high up on my neck.

GabriellaG54 Tue 11-Dec-18 16:32:58

Holly Willoughby

That was priceless gringringrin
Creme Puff indeed.
Robert Maxwell would never go out anywhere unless he had his Rimmel powder puff in an inside pocket, even sending a bodyguard up to his hotel room to retrieve it on one occasion.

Lisagran Tue 11-Dec-18 16:31:55

HW ?

GabriellaG54 Tue 11-Dec-18 16:25:52

Hmm, unlike Madge and Gloria (and what old fashioned names they are too) I've never heard or seen strumming guitars in places outside the UK, although I am originally from the great City OB mentions grin

GabriellaG54 Tue 11-Dec-18 16:18:41

*but not bit...blush

GabriellaG54 Tue 11-Dec-18 16:18:03

M&S have a great range of skirts and trousers in now. I had to get out quickly bit not before buying the check pencil skirt (as worn by HW) and 2 bags of food and gifts with 50% off. hmmblush

oldbatty Tue 11-Dec-18 16:17:28

That doesn't quite add up with Madge from Liverpool or Gloria and the snorting horses in York or who ever you are today. Oh gosh I forgot the strumming guitars in those far off places.

GabriellaG54 Tue 11-Dec-18 16:11:17

That was me oldbatty...after a few sherberts. winkgringrin

I like the outfits on this Pinterest page.

Nice scarf / necklace Maw. I love scarves and jewellery - they always fit smile

Seakay Tue 11-Dec-18 15:41:52

how humble?

fluttERBY123 Tue 11-Dec-18 15:22:42

Is anyone else at goal at WW and size 18? In fact I am more a size 18/20 rather than 16/18

lovebeigecardigans1955 Tue 11-Dec-18 15:15:07

Hang on, oldbatty and trisher some of us love beige as you can tell from my user name!
I'm a size 18/20 and only 5'1" - I think it's the style though not just colour. Longish garments can flow nicely and give a slimmer silhouette which can make you feel more confident.
I'm letting my hair go grey and have a pixie cut, a bit like Judi Dench, not quite as elegant but I try.

oldbatty Tue 11-Dec-18 15:09:32

right hippie, you are now " a project". We must rescue you from this slump.

Elrel Tue 11-Dec-18 15:08:30

Bijou, I don't need to 'check my backside in a mirror' as I know where it is and what it looks like.

mrshat Tue 11-Dec-18 13:56:49

MB love that scarf and the beads! I love scarves smile
