Comfortable bras??

Hi im looking for a soft comfortable bra that doesn’t rub or leave me feeling like I’m suffocating. I can't stand wired or padded or fancy lacy bras. In addition, I have a scar from a sebaceous cyst just at the edge of the top bit of the cup and some bras can rub and make the scar red and itchy and I'm worried it could set off the inflammation again I’ve forked out for loads of bras only to find they dig in or rub me

I wear Marks and Spencer's sumptuously soft ones but I want more comfort and less padding or irritating wires.

Perhaps I should just wear vest tops or go bra-less?

Any ideas please ?

I went for a mammogram yesterday and when asked by the nurse if I was experiencing any problems with my breasts, told her that I was having a bit of pain which seemed to come from the my upper ribs under my arm and it seems to affect my breast. This has been going on for ages. She advised waiting for mammogram results, and in the meantime buy a properly measured bra with good support. If no better by the time the results of mammogram come back (about 2 weeks), then to see GP. She said that as we get older and with everything 'heading south', strain can be put on the breasts. I had to laugh, really, when I thought about it, because I noticed that I was getting rather 'jowly', and even my eyelids are drooping! Perhaps it's my bosoms that are dragging my features downwards ??.
Anyway, although I don't exactly live out in the sticks, I'd have to travel quite a lot of miles to be measured, so I've followed M&S's instructions. Bras will be delivered on Monday and then I shall look like Madonna (but still with droopy eyelids).

yes marielle passed as the comfiest bra I have worn since I got older
I'm so pleased for you craftyone, as I've been wearing them for ages now. Comfort is more important to me now rather than having perky breasts. I find them slightly jiggly, but as I don't move very fast nowadays that's not a problem. I also like to wear one in bed.

yes marielle passed as the comfiest bra I have worn since I got older. Not perky but fine, rounded will do nicely. The underband scruched a bit but then again I don`t have a flat tum. I am very happy, I ordered a few more, going to be wearing a fresh one every day. Not jiggly when walking normally

I have found these bras to be so comfortable. www.jdwilliams.co.uk/shop/naturally-close-2pack-sarah-non-wired-cotton-rich-white-bras/KT607/product/details/show.action?pdBoUid=9059&dressipi_widget=plp&dressipi=1#colour:White/White
I got 2 and then sent for another 2 in different colours. They are cotton rich and soft to the touch.

They are not cheap but there is a brand called Wacoal - stocked by John Lewis and some small independents. They do a totally seamless bra that magically works even for big boobs.

marielle has arrived and I am wearing one, even putting it on, I went from restricted cage to comfort. Yes a bit of jiggle coming down stairs but certainly not flat as in mey camisoles. One whole day ahead and I will report back, starting with the fact that there are no hooks pressing into my back as I sit. I did get a size a bit bigger than I thought and it seems good. Fingers crossed for the whole day

I have spent the whole winter without a bra, wearing comfortable mey tops below jumpers. Yes ok my boobies are now lower and certainly not perky as in a bra but who cares. I usually have an overtop or apron handy, so that I can answer the door without feeling self conscious. I have loved being braless

Summer is coming and I have worn a bra twice this week and don`t I know it, that underboob soreness is coming back. I tried M n S bras, the ones that pull on, they have now been donated to the cs, they gathered underbust and were equally uncomfortable

Now for marielle, on amazon last night. My last hope before I have to re-design my whole upper wardrobe for summer

I have just bought a non-wired cotton comfort plunge bra from Tu at Sainsburys. Available in a huge range of sizes, very comfortable and cost £6.

I like Bravissimo, staff are always helpful. Buy 1 from them after being measured then another from JL when on offer. Just wish we had Bravissimo nearer than Reading.

Try Rigby and Peller, excellent service and reputation, also fitters to HM grin

Comfortable bras? Don’t think there is such a thing.

Gettingitrightoneday Sun 10-Mar-19 07:16:54

I find M&S bras mostly comfortable but all of us have boobs that are different in size and shape.

annep1 Sun 10-Mar-19 06:32:11

I like feminine unpadded wired pretty bras too but they're not working for me at the minute pain-wise. Have had to buy some frumpy ones. sad

Aglassofroseplease
I buy mine from Bravissimo, a local independent who sells Prima Donna or the Fantasie bras from Debenhams. As a 36 GG, I like feminine unpadded wired bras with just two back clips not the three found on most larger sizes. On my own in the house I wear Bravissimo sleep bras or their camis with built in bras.
Going bra-less just encourages them to sag which I definitely don't intend to happen.

GabriellaG54 Sun 10-Mar-19 01:36:51

Bravissimo do camis with built in bras which are, to a small degree, padded/shaped. Supremely comfy IMO.

Shez1955 So glad you found a comfy bra from Bloomers flowers

Shez1955 Sat 09-Mar-19 17:07:13

Ordered yesterday from www.thebigbloomerscompany.co.uk/ arrived today. Thanks to BradfordLass72 who suggested this site. Pull on bra size 38-44 feels really comfortable, bit of bounce but better than wearing no bra. I’m a 38F, wouldn’t think they’d fit any larger cup size.

Badenkate Fri 08-Mar-19 12:39:58

Ridiculous though it may seem, and I am well-endowed in the boobs area, the most comfortable bra I've had for years is Sainsbury's underwired - and I must have tried most makes. They fit perfectly and I completely forget I'm wearing them

annep1 Fri 08-Mar-19 11:29:43

Has anyone tried Magic bra sold by chums.co.uk? There's a very cheap promotiona in the i newspaper (3 for £20 which makes me wonder how good they are.

Labaik Fri 08-Mar-19 10:27:25

Alexa; when it was very hot last summer I wore M&S unwired bikini bras, both under clothes and, if pottering about the house, on their own.

Tgt1 Fri 08-Mar-19 10:06:39

I find all bras uncomfortable. As soon as I get in from work it comes off. Try to avoid wearing them at all when I'm at home.

Vicky56 Fri 08-Mar-19 10:02:36

M&S and Debenhams are the best, book for a fitting session and they will talk you through different options

annep1 Fri 08-Mar-19 09:48:04

This is actually meant for post-op wear after mastectomy.
I have costochondritis and fibromyalgia and shoulder problem . I usually wear M&S but most are causing me pain.
This bra is wonderful. The best thing I have found in years. It's from the Royce range and there are so many others to choose from.

What does the oil do for uncumfy bras ?

B9exchange Fri 08-Mar-19 09:29:28

For those of you suffering uncomfortable bras, have you tried starflower oil? Has worked wonders for me?
