Does anyone know where I can send a Barbour jacket to be altered please ? I've recently lost a lot of weight and the new jacket bought last winter is now far too big. I've seen ads for where the zips/buttons can be repaired but nothing to take it down a size. Many thanks smile

Genuine Barbour coats are expensive I’ve seen S/H “distressed” barbours at £70 - £100. Worth advertising it on EBay, then buy a new one.

Otherwise phone Barbour they may well do maintenance.

I'm sure I saw a programme about Barbour, not so long ago, and they had a repair service, so they may be able to help you.

I've been trying with no luck to track down somewhere that will re wax my Barbour jacket. I haven't come across anywhere that does alterations during my search.

Ellianne
I did my own waxing using the Barbour Wax Thornproofing bought from EBay. There's also a good YouTube video showing you how.

Barbour do alterations and rewax - not cheap I guess. See their website.

Thanks everyone - think I'll give Barbour a call and if no luck then as Davidhs suggests will advertise on eBay. Cheers all smile

Thanks petra. I see John Lewis has a tin of wax. Hope it's a relatively easy job.

Ellianne my daughter brought her very smelly Barbour jacket home from NZ to be re-waxed and cleaned at Johnsons the Cleaners. They sent it away and did a brilliant job, but it was very expensive and took just less a month.

The Barbour service is outstanding and reasonably priced.
If you have a Barbour shop near you they will send it off.
We have jackets of of 25+ years they have revived and repaired.

Or just get a smaller one?
