How many pairs of boots do you consider reasonable?

Too many to count. I have some I rarely wear and others I wear frequently. A girl can never have too many pairs of shoes ( or boots)!!

I did have five pairs, but gave two pairs to DD1 ( almost new)
As I just wasn’t wearing them.
The other three pairs get regular wear usually, but it’s really been too mild so far for them.

I have none.
I'm still in sandals going to the shops, no socks.
I have one pair of 'best' shoes and another pair for wearing in wet weather with a pair of socks because full shoes scrape the backs of my heels. Hence sandals with a strap at the back.
In the rare times we have snow here I have a pair of trainers.

I doubt any animal based glues would be used in sticking plastic shoes/boots together. If somone wanted to forswear plastic adhesives, even in DIY, they would probably be driven to using flour and water glue as every adhesive is synthetic.

I've got 2 pairs of black leather ones - 1 knee-length-length, 1 ankle.
2 pairs of black suede - 1 knee- length, 1 ankle.
1 pair of leopard-print ankle boots

Feeling inferior: 3 pairs plus pink wellies. I need to grab my credit card and surf the shops.

I have two pairs of boots , both ankle ones and one pair of walking boots, never now worn, sadly.
I could never contemplate paying over £300 for a pair.
But we “pays our money and make our choices”.
I am probably extravagant in ways other people aren’t.

Yes I too have a boot fetish - I just wish I could wear more than one pair at a time.
I discovered Picolinos this year and love them.
I prefer boots and trainers to proper shoes.
I have cupboard in the hall and two cupboards upstairs.

Dubarrys for walking the dog in winter. First started wearing them about 20 years ago. I like the calf length ones as the higher ones rub my knees as I’m only 5’3”.
6.7 or maybe 8 pairs of flip flops, patient, swede and leather, brown and black which I love as they are so light. I buy them at reduced rates but must stop as I will never get round to wearing all of them.

Loads! But I like them!

Well I only have three pairs, 2 black leather and one pair of leopard skin (not real obviously) suede ankle boots.

Surely boots described as “vegan” are not just synthetic. It means that no materials used in the production are of animal origin: that goes for glue etc.

MnS vegan boots to go with MnS vegan handbags? Is anyone taken in by that? There have been comments on another thread.

I pair of brown boots, that have remained unworn for several years as they currently do not go with anything in my wardrobe - apart from wellies and waterproof snow boots , and I do not suppose they count.

Vegan boots? Do you casserole them or fry them? My wellies are made from rubber or plastic.

I have wellies, walking, black, brown and snow. Haven't used the snow for a few years. They are also vegan, m and s do a vegan range and I recently bought a low brown pair from there and they are excellent.

I would not have bought Dubarry boots for myself, would think they were too expensive, but as they were a gift.....

fiachna I like to read about brands I might not have heard of- Dubarry, for instance, look lovely. I don’t think anyone is showing off. I do pay quite a lot for my shoes and boots, but I am lucky that I can afford it, and I have only three pairs that I wear regularly, and one pair of cheap M&S that are a bit dressier. I’m prepared to pay for comfort, but limit how many pairs to one or two a year. I also like to know that anything I buy is made using good employment practices.

1 pair of black ankle boots, new. I usually wear knee high boots in winter but my last pair bought in 2009 have recently died.

On the lookout for a pair I want, low slim block or not pointy heel, classic shape, black.

3 short (taupe, black, grey) , 2 long (black, tan) plus 1 fur lined and beautifully warm short pair for snow and slippy conditions. Beginning to feel positively deprived. .

I have seven pairs of boots....wellingtons, hiking boots, knee length, snow-boots, and three pairs of ankle boots....and they all get worn!

Seven pairs, none in the first flush of youth. Comprising 2 pairs of knee high black leather, one ancient and split but kept in case of a bad winter for their non-slip soles, the other a sale bargain only worn with long skirts as they’re baggy at the top. A pair of lace-up calf-length tan with medium heels. Ankle boots with low heels x3: one brown leather rarely worn as they’re a 6.5 and I’m a 7 (those sales again ), one synthetic grey with faint splashes of blue gloss paint from the garden bench refurb, one very comfortable go-to synthetic “suede” “fur” lined khaki. One pair of fake Uggs. From Clarks, Tesco, Hush Puppies, TK Maxx, Tesco, Primark and some random on Amazon respectively.

Fiachna! Same here. Well I have heard of fit flop boots (they are brilliant, I've got some). What are Clarks? Only joking!

I take it we are letting everyone know how posh and expensive our boots are with all the name dropping? I've never heard any of these names except Clarks! Poor me.
