Horizontal split nails

I've seen a thread about vertical splits but 3 of my nails split horizontally!
If the split was towards the top it would be easier to manage...I keep my nails fairly short anyway but mine start across the middle or a little higher...always on the nail bed.
I've tried the tea-bag solution but any other advice really welcomed.

What is the T bag solution? I missed that one. I have terrible nails that split both ways. I have tried lots of things that work while you are using them but as soon as you stop the problem is back. There are some hair and nails vitamin tablets that you can buy at the pharmacy.
