So, how long does your make up take?

Takes me no time at all, literally, as I don’t wear any. I am no beauty, but looking at other women my age, often think my skin looks as good if not better than theirs. Not too many lines or wrinkles, touch wood.

Oh for god's sake 10 hours shock even for stage make up! In my younger days, I'd spend ages faffing about with make up, until it occurred to me, the more slap one puts on, especially as we age, the worse the wearer looks. Remember Barbara Cartland in her 90s, false eyelashes, horrible blue eye shadow and face make up so thick, a trowel would have been required to remove it. Jennifer Lopez is a good looking woman, I imagine she'd look more than okay bare faced.

Is it my imagination but are young women wearing a lot more in the way of make up these days, it's a shame, it's only with hindsight that some will realise, like I did, the old adage of less is more, it's very apt as far as over made up faces are concerned.

These days I take a mere 5 to ten minutes on my face.

I suppose it takes five full minutes these days.
Clinique powder compact all-in-one base which is so lovely and easy to apply.
Then soft brown pencil on eyebrows as they are virtually non existant.
A quick fluff of blusher as I am so pale.
Then rosy lipstick to finish.
Never spend time on the make-up. Just try not to go out looking like a ghost.

A “news” item on Google today reports that Jennifer Lopez’s team took 10 hours to do her makeup for an event at the weekend.
Photographs show her in full gear and then one barefaced in a tracksuit. She looks like any pleasant suburban housewife.
Is it any wonder our teens and twenties are dissatisfied with the way they look and try to emulate their idols?
