Oh the joy of discovering Sloggies , I bought a pack of four today , I love them why I didn't wear them years ago but I suppose I was not wanting to go in to big plain knickers , but my usual M&S VPL are becoming so uncomfortable , they seem to have started making the gusset bit a lot narrower so you can all guess how that felt !! I am now a Sloggi convert ,

I've always thought Sloggies were expensive, even when I had more money than now. I buy muti packs of 5 from Tu - great value and very comfy.

Midis for me - and for my mum until the day she died!

Do any of you remember the fashion (in the 60s?) for long brightly coloured bloomers? It was before tights, so they filled the gap between stocking tops and knickers. All my friends wore them, as well as me, and even my mum had some.

I hate big knickers. Mine are bikini, high leg and as pretty as possible .

Yehbutnobut Thu 06-Feb-20 15:24:01

That is the exact colour...germoline pink!

I've got a mix of Sloggi's and M&S Flexifit in pastels and my favourite - beige. Nice and comfy with smooth lines.

To be honest, never really given much thought to knickers - except when I accidentally bought a thong and that was in the bin within a week, I do not think I have ever had any uncomfortable knickers.

I like pretty floral underwear, not lacy, matching bra and briefs, and that is what I wear, mainly bought in French supermarkets. Bung them in the washing machine and they last years.

I envy you ladies with your glamorous and colourful undies. I can't wear anything but cotton 'down there' and being allergic to latex even makes the elastic a problem sometimes. So - huge, bland, baggy cotton drawers and no help for flabby bits is my doom! (But at least they don't bind!) smile

So many people wear things now and yes they make your clothes look good but I can't get on with them!

MissAdventure Thu 06-Feb-20 14:21:13

"Gorgeously gusseted" smile

I wore a pair for one day once (my mother gave them to me). But never again! I honestly felt as if I was in a sausage skin, they were so big and close fitting.

M & S for me, multi packs if I can get them in a nice colour mix!

Thanks for the information Coolgran65! I do love a bargain!

Missfoodlove Thu 06-Feb-20 11:58:52

I was searching for the perfect life changing knickers for years.
I even carried a near perfect pair on shopping trips to compare, rise, gusset etc.
Eureka!!! TK Maxx had just the thing!
I managed to get 15 pairs for me and 5 for my daughter.
We were both so smug with our pretty, seamless, gorgeously gusseted knickers but sadly we’ve not seen them in months, it’s a US brand.
No other knickers quite compare.
So if you get the right ones stockpile!!!

QuaintIrene Thu 06-Feb-20 10:58:12

Sloggi. Gah ! Primark have different colours as well.

QuaintIrene Thu 06-Feb-20 10:55:36

Primark do Sloggie type Knickers. 3 for a fiver I think. Wash like a dream and comfy.

Coolgran65 Thu 06-Feb-20 10:43:08

Hetty58 on eBay they are sold as Ladies Famous Store Group and it’s a 3 pack at 5.97. Sold by fmsupplies.
On Amazon said no longer available.

Do have a look at the Chantelle Soft Stretch High Waisted Briefs which I bought at John Lewis. I got them in the sale for about £9.00 each, I know that is expensive but they have some fab colours and are very comfy. I have got Poppy Red and Atlantic Blue and a couple of other shades. They are one size, wash a treat and don't look like granny pants.

Coolgran65 Thu 06-Feb-20 10:27:08

Hetty58 no it wasn’t that site it was off Amazon tho I think also on eBay. I think i searched on Amazon for full briefs with stretch. The blurb says faMouS names or something like that. Note the M and S in capitals as an indication. I’ll attach a link later if I can

henetha Thu 06-Feb-20 10:16:07

I like Sloggies... but I wish they did them in pretty patterns and colours.

Willynilly Thu 06-Feb-20 10:11:37

MissA...we called them Harvest Festivals (all is safely gathered in) grin

Hetty58 Thu 06-Feb-20 09:37:59

Is that 'everythingfivepounds' Coolgran? I got some lovely cotton jumpers from them that seemed like M&S quality.

DanniRae Thu 06-Feb-20 09:00:37

Sorry but I refuse to wear Sloggi type big pants. I have some from M&S that are midi style, silky with a bit of stretchy lace round the legs and they are extremely comfortable and I feel good in them and I am happy to hang them on my washing line unlike big knickers! wink

Coolgran65 Thu 06-Feb-20 08:55:30

M & s do a wonderful‘sloggi’. I found them on line from a company who sells their overstock £5 for 5 pairs. The labels are snipped so there can be no shop return.
The are superb and I was a previous Sloggi wearer

sodapop Thu 06-Feb-20 08:50:51

I remember those germolene pink bloomers yehbutnobut.

JackyB Thu 06-Feb-20 08:39:44

I have some Sloggis with a seam up the back which is very irritating and uncomfortable.

Callistemon Wed 05-Feb-20 23:33:40

Germolene pink?

Sloggis are good because they're comfy but neat and can hold you in (safely as MissA says!)
