It might be something new and stylish. Something you’ve bought to wear for a special occasion. Something that you save for ‘best’, or that simply makes you feel great every time you put it on.

It might be something old and worn. Something you wouldn’t even wear out of the house, but that’s so comfy you just can’t bear to part with it.

In the spirit of sharing, these are ours (below). Now tell us yours!

Cari - pyjama bottoms. First thing I put on when I get home. Hideous but sooooo comfortable.
Lara - black leather boots. “Smart with a tiny heel that makes them look smart but still comfortable.”
Tasha - torn between two midi dresses and still deciding which!
Sarah - stripy top
Sadaf - long grey jumper. “It has holes in from wearing it so much. Just ignore my attempts at stitching it up if you see me in it”

A pair of jeans I've had for longer than I care to remember! They still look great, are very comfortable to wear and I feel good every time I put them on. I've never found a pair of jeans thats looks as good (or half as comfortable) on me since.

What a useful thread for any fashion shop looking for what women really want!

A light cover up kimono in varied floral blues, had it for years, bought from a clothing chain. Didn't cost much but its floaty and is so versatile, pop it on over trousers and a tee and I feel I can hold my head up and go anywhere. And I've had it so long I've seen them mentioned in some magazines as making a comeback!!

Bubblyone very stylish. smile

My favourite item of clothing is a Cornish Fisherman's Smock handed on to me about twenty years ago by my father-in-law when he got too bit for it. It's a sort of faded maroon/red with a Durgan Regatta logo on it and I wear it whenever I need to cover up to do messy jobs.

Love cardigans but the one I liked best is my Lemon Cardigan I like wearing

I love my jeans. I tend to live in them day to day and only dress up on very special occasions. I buy mine at M&S and have several pairs in different styles and colours.

A lovely navy & cream fleece-lined cagoule that I bought in Bar Harbor in New England in the US a few years ago whilst on a Holland & America cruise and the best thing was that it was in a Sale and only cost about £12. I caught the end of the zip in a door whilst it was closing so it got crushed to pieces but I love the jacket so much that I've replaced the zip and it's as good as new.

My cosy fleece lined trousers for dog walking they even wipe clean to remove mud Wish I had bought several pairs in every colour

Has to be my PJs and a warm fleecy top to wear over them. In the winter the time I put them on seems to get earlier each day until sometimes it's the middle of the afternoon. Makes me feel really decadent!

A light cotton full length kaftan bought in Noosa, Aus some years ago. Can be worn on the beach, in the evenings to fend off the mozzies , at home in the evenings after a bath but mainly I use it to preserve my dignity when staying away. A type of not dressing gown which can be slung on in seconds.

I am a collector of boots... Newest pair are definitely my favourites at the moment. Look a bit like Dr Martens but with zips ?

My Hobbs smart black coat. I saw it full price and couldn’t justify it then saw the last one and it was my size in the sale - and I had a voucher for another ten percent off. I love it. It always feels great.

my favourite is from Joe Browns too Anna Pops. It's a Parka type coat with a dancing deer pattern along the bottom. It was £34 ,I saw one in the sale at Meadowall, but they didn't have my size,I found one online on the outlet page of the website. It was only the same price as the parka coats in supermarkets, and has had many admirers.I also have a Joe Brown cardigan, and a swan dress,I need to find my next bargain from there now.

It’s a bright pink cashmere scarf that is soft and warm, it brightens my complexion and it is very useful.

I love my black, jersey pull-on trousers (M&S) that I like to wear with a black jumper with a big, cream heart on the front (Next) - I have had them for years but if I am not going anywhere special they are my go- to- outfit.

Mtc59 Mon 09-Mar-20 12:36:07

Love, love love a cozy cardigan. I have a navy cashmere one from eBay, bought deliberately too big so I could cuddle myself with softness!

Bubblyone Mon 09-Mar-20 12:31:11

I LOVE this very expensive Moloh jacket that I got from eBay for a bargain price

jacalpad Mon 09-Mar-20 12:22:19

A turquoise and white fine-striped linen tunic from Seasalt. I bought it in a sale and have had so many compliments about it.

Samegrandma Mon 09-Mar-20 12:20:41

My lovely thick herringbone tweed classic winter coat - it's a wrap front (so always fits!) deep pockets, warm & cosy, never dated - bought in the Debenhams sale in 1984 for £35 and it's annual dry clean brings it up like new - I think it will outlive me!

redsue Mon 09-Mar-20 12:12:39

My very old long black cardigan which can cover a multitude of wobbly bits.

GNan Mon 09-Mar-20 12:00:50

I have a brown tweed zip up cardigan with hood that my Mum knitted for me over 40 years ago, it is still going strong although I now only use it in the garden and on the allotment everytime I wear it I think of Mum

margobo16 Mon 09-Mar-20 11:59:48

My favorite is my Squall coat from Lands'End. So much so that I cant wait for bad weather so I can snuggle into it. Almost sad when the warmer weather starts and I put it away until it gets cold again.

joannapiano Mon 09-Mar-20 11:58:07

My short fake fur coat I bought in a charity shop for £5. Really warm and light, and goes with everything.
