Lurkers' week: What’s the one beauty/grooming product you can’t live without?

(We’ve picked up loads of great recommendations from gransnetters over the years - thank you - so very much looking forward to adding to our lists. This despite the fact we had some nasty near-injuries with the hair plucking spring thing that was very en vogue on the forums a few years back)

My hair straighteners. As I'm growing my hair, they are a god send.

Olay moisturizing cream day and ni
ght. Lip balm as my lips get really dry. Hand cream too as always washing hands dries them out.

Ponds Cold Cream to wipe make-up off. I have sensitive skin and this is the one thing that doesn’t give me a rash. Now in a new, smart jar with a green lid!

Mascara - I have thin, faint eyelashes, so mascara is a must otherwise I look tired and worn out. I've assembled quite a collection of them!

Chanel No.. 5.since 1964. .and eye shadow are my two favourites .
Although I have many other items I try from time to time, they are constant.

Maybelline Tattoo Brow which is like paint which you can brush on as thinly or as thickly as you prefer. As I lost most of my eyebrows due to chemo a few years back it is a Godsend. I wouldn't want to 'face the world' without it.

I tend not to use beauty products and my make up usually consists of a swipe of lipstick, so I would have to say a really good bar of hair conditioner. I used to use Molton Brown products, which I loved, but some time ago I switched to bars in order to do away with single use plastic. We have a shop in town that sells locally made soaps, shampoo and hair conditioner and I've really enjoyed experimenting - my current one is made with neem and it really thickens up my hair.

Desdemona Tue 10-Mar-20 12:56:26

I would really not use the term "I can't live without."

However, I suppose if I couldn't have my eyeliner and tinted lip balm (both staples to me) I would pick Johnson's Top-To-Toe Baby Moisturising Cream because it is lovely for face, neck, body and feet and I suppose (if I had to) I could use it on lips and rub a bit into the ends of my hair for conditioning??)

Waterproof mascara for me , I always use one from the Boots Naturals collection . I have fair eyelashes and without it my eyes just disappear .

Melanie123 Tue 10-Mar-20 12:40:50

Eyebrow pencil. Look like a boiled egg without it on!

Morgie52 Tue 10-Mar-20 12:35:26

Waterproof mascara closely followed by foundation.

Mazamet07 Tue 10-Mar-20 12:30:37

Now I am 'of that age' where I cannot see my thinning eyebrows, I find that I am relying more and more on an eyebrow pencil. My daughter swears by Benefit, so that will be my next treat.

Occassional poster, mainly a lurker. My one necessary product is hair oil. Wash my hair too frequently due to activity in gym and it gets very dry

Claggy - not craggy! Damn autocorrect!

Paperbackwriter Tue 10-Mar-20 12:23:56

I don't feel human till I've put some liner on my lower eyelids. The best one I've found (after lots of trial and error) is actually the Autograph kohl pencil from M&S, though I do have a Chanel one that's quite good, if a tad blotchy in hot weather. I never wear mascara - Don't like the craggy feeling it gives and it's not great with contact lenses.
Other than that - Elemis moisturiser.
