(We’ve picked up loads of great recommendations from gransnetters over the years - thank you - so very much looking forward to adding to our lists. This despite the fact we had some nasty near-injuries with the hair plucking spring thing that was very en vogue on the forums a few years back)
I'm a convert to facial oil - Superfacialist is a good one, but I've tried several and they all work for me. It's now a firm part of my night time routine.
I love so many items in my make up bag, but as my eyelashes are sparse, a white primer before a good mascara makes a massive difference. I also add a fibre mascara to really fill them out. I wish there was a like button for these threads, so many nice suggestions!
Just learned what a Lurker is. I don't qualify but as I am so bad at make-up and since seeing a cartoon where the baby duck is upset about being "so uggerly" I might say my essential product is;
Moisturiser - don’t have a favourite brand, I just buy the cheapest one as DH is an industrial chemist who pointed out years ago that they all have basically the same ingredients....saved me a fortune!
Clinique Redness Solutions Daily Protective Base. It’s a cream that goes underneath foundation. It acts as a primer and helps cover red veins and imperfections. Don’t be put off by the fact it's green. It works a dream.
My fave item is Benefit The POREfessional Primer - it smooths a way all fine lines/open pores and minimises deeper wrinkles - plus it mattifies for hours. It’s a miracle worker!
Lip balm is an absolute must for me. Any kind it doesn't matter. Whenever I visit anyone in hospital I always take them a lip balm rather than grapes. Lurked for a while but not anymore
Occasional poster. Likewise Mazemet07 thinning eyebrows. I use Benefit “ brow this way “. It’s excellent. Also blusher, I have a pastie completion and look I’ll without it.
Ponds Cold Cream - have used it since I was a teenager (many many years ago!). Haven't found a better night cream and makeup remover after all these years.
