Loose fit cotton baggy t shirts and tops for a fat tummy

Have tried so many places online and can't find anywhere that sells this sort of top. I'm a size 20 with a large tummy so I need something loose fitting. I know others have recommended different shops/outlets such as Cotton Traders, Hush, Orvis, Masai, White Company etc but they either have nothing suitable, don't do cotton or are far too expensive. Where do other fat tummied ladies buy their reasonably priced comfort tops?

You could try Tilletts

Nice shape trousers, MerylStreep. I'd like them in self colours to go with patterned tops.

Men’s t shirts? Very unflattering to women

Get men's tee shirts in the biggest size possible(XXXXL, or whatever.....) . The companies that cater to American men, have vast sizes.
They range in design, quality and price, so you should find a pattern you like.

Cotton Traders do some nice linen look cotton tops and Ts - generous sizes.

Try romanoriginals.co.uk. I haven't bought from them previously but some quite nice looking roomier tops there.

Sainsbury’s do some nice clothes & also have lots of half price sales.

Alexa
They only have size 6/8 left. If there had been a 12 I would have bought it.

Have bought a couple of dresses from Seasalt in their sale. They do some quite good styles that skim my post menopausal belly. All cotton, some organic, which I like. Not the cheapest but worth checking sales. Seem a lovely independent company that care.

Seasalt do good tops , and their winter tunics are lovely. More expensive , but good quality are Box 2 clothes .

Give fruit of the loom a shot.
Great quality.

I like that Alexa, current and classy ?

Shortish skimming shift dresses instead of hip length tops give you a more tummyless silhouette. You have to be careful to get a style of shift dress that does not cling to tummy.

This one is almost sold out but I post the picture as it shows a very disguising pleat at the front.

Try matalan, I buy the cheap short sleeved t shirts, not the crew neck ones, the ones with a deeper neckline. They are only £4 each and they are a good length and are 100% cotton so they dont cling like tops that have lycra in. I buy these every year. Or george at Asda do simular t shirts at about the same price. Buy a bigger size for a more roomy fit.

I’ve got loads of gorgeous loose clothes from Kit and Kaboodle - shop in their sale or join the members club for 15% discount on everything

lemongrove Sat 11-Jul-20 15:21:31

Doesn’t a loose fitting dress look better over a fat tum? Looks more streamlined than a top and trousers, and nicer to wear in warm weather.Mantaray do some nice ones at reasonable prices.

Lagenlook, clothes made in Italy at a reasonable price.

Have a look at Euphoria Clothing, they also have a Facebook Group,I belong to.You can see ladies of all ages height and weight wearing the clothes,as we all post photos of ourselves in the clothes.

There are lots of online shops selling similar types of clothing,The Magic Fairies Boutique,Michelle Chapman to name but two.I have been ordering my clothes from these shops in lockdown, the prices are low as well.

I'm really very frugal with everyday clothes so I 'treated' myself to ten tops from the £2.50 sale. Some of their stuff is really nice, just choose carefully:

I've had my boobs removed but have a really fat tummy so can't wear plain t shirts at all. This season I've had a couple of nice ones from Lands end or, pre-lockdown, Mantaray but many Debenhams closing now?

silverlining48 Sat 11-Jul-20 11:46:28

Its not my tummy but my hips which are the problem. I don’t spend a lot on clothes so often shop in Asda, they are very reasonable and have a nice selection of loose tops. As Hetty said tee shirts can be clingy so best avoided.

Glambat Sat 11-Jul-20 11:36:41

Hi Jellybeanjean....take a look at a company called Luvvy, they do a range of loose linen type tops in large sizes & they don’t cost the earth....

Hetty58 Sat 11-Jul-20 11:27:51

I'd go for loose tops rather than t-shirts (that tend to cling). I do like the longer sort that flare out a little, so they still fit on the shoulders but skim over the 'lockdown belly'.
