How many beige clothes do you have?

Having just purchased a bright tomato red Joules top (reduced), I wondered whether at 74 I should tone down my colourful clothing. I am still more or less dark haired and tan easily so always go for colour.
How many beige items of clothing do you have (I have none) and how many red?

None apart from undies! Bright colours forever!

Somebody asked for a picture of the red top, so here is one. Mine is a bigger size though! I like Joules Harbour style because they have a curved hem at the back to cover the bottom.

None. Pale colours don't suit me.

No beige in my wardrobe and there never will be.

HiPpyChick57 Wed 08-Jul-20 13:57:33

Ew no beige whatsoever I hate the sound of even the word!!!
Colour all the way for me. There are far too many gorgeous colours to even consider wearing beige!!!

Esmerelda Wed 08-Jul-20 13:45:24

None ... never worn it in the past, don't wear it now!

Beige? No thanks, not a solitary beige item in my wardrobe! I admire Prue Leiths style although I would never be that brave grin

Caro57 Wed 08-Jul-20 13:32:45

could probably count them on one hand - go for colour every time!!

Camel coat not black.

Rosalyn69 Wed 08-Jul-20 13:32:23

I like beige shades. And I love my camel black (is that beige?). I do however like yellow and pink and black so rarely head to toe beige.
I can’t remember who said but the giant biscuit comment made me ?

I have one pair of pale cream linen trousers ( def NOT beige, hate it) and actually wear a lot of red as it really suits me. Always wear bright colours, never black as it actually makes me look ill! Love bright colours red, turquoise , bright yellow/gold, green and coral. Navy with a bright colour as a neutral. Dress young you are only as old as you feel all dark or beige is drab

None! And I won’t, ever. Life is colourful and so should clothes be. Beige trousers look awful even with a colourful top. Don’t dress age appropriately, nobody does that these days.

I remember quite a few years ago driving through Blackpool and seeing coaches unloaded a sea of beige wearing passengers. It was so depressing to look at, I expect they bought beige as so many colours may be worn with it, unfortunately they had omitted to add any colour at all.

An old lady - gray hair- dressed in beige. When I looked round shop 95% of people fitted that description
Choccie123 You must live in Bournemouth! grin
Our Michelle lives there and two years ago she raised with GN the topic of grey Grannies after seeing a group waiting at a bus stop to use their passes, all in beige outfits from shoes upwards. The subsequent thread reached over 300!
She'll be tickled pink (not beige!) to know that everyone is still in denial about "beige" grin

Stella14 Wed 08-Jul-20 13:05:11

None. I don’t specifically avoid beige due to the connotations. I just wouldn’t consider it. I like strong colours. Deep blues, greens, orange (not sure it suits my skin tone, but I love it), gold. I also wear navy and white.

eilys Wed 08-Jul-20 13:00:16

Pink and mauve in abundance for me

Mamma7 Wed 08-Jul-20 12:54:30

None! ??

Pudding123 Wed 08-Jul-20 12:49:52

I went on a trip to Llandudno when I was about 40,almost every person I saw over the age of about 60 was in varying shades of beige,it wasn't a good look .I recently bought a top in white, beige and black it was a lovely top but when I tried it on boy did it wash me out so it is going back and I will stick to more vibrant colours.I was in holiday in Nice a couple of years ago I saw lots of French ladies who looked amazing in beige, perhaps it is the style of the clothes as well as the colour.

Ealdemodor ???

grandtanteJE65 Wed 08-Jul-20 12:23:59

I have absolutely no beige clothes, and can't imagine ever wanting any.

No red either, as I have never felt it suited me.

Green, yellow, brown, off-white are well represented in my wardrobe with denims giving the blue touch.

blueberry1 Wed 08-Jul-20 12:10:14

Absolutely none! I like a bit of colour in my life.

Ealdemodor Wed 08-Jul-20 12:01:29

If the years are rolling on, never wear head to toe beige. You will look like a giant biscuit, and just become invisible.

Teddy123 Wed 08-Jul-20 11:56:49

No beige. Mostly black, navy, with assortment of animal print in various colours. I'm happily growing old disgracefully!

Flakesdayout Wed 08-Jul-20 11:46:22

Ooh I dont do beige and I have to be careful with red. I do have one creamy/beige jacket which I bought for a wedding but that is all. I do wear black usually in winter and for trousers and jeans and do have lots of colours for summer.
