Bikergran I think the lady in the yellow cardi is a dreadful Photoshop! Nobody could have such dreadful posture.
Mind you, I did look at the ad, because pain makes me slouch, and I know it’s a vicious circle. Pilates could be the way forward.

Me too...I've been on laptop a lot today and keep forgetting to sit up! tut.

Thanks for these responses.

bikergran - it was the ad with the hump backed old lady that I clicked on! Until then I'd never heard of posture correctors.

I did Pilates many years ago but the class changed to a different time and venue so I had to give up. I'll have another look at Pilates.

I'm also a "sloucher" hmm but also was once told many yrs ago I have dowers hump! think it used to be know as widows hump for some reason!
Its not pronounced and you wouldnt really notice, but maybe in yrs to come it will show itself.

I too have recently been interested in correcting my posture, but don't know where to start.

Strangely enough there has been a lady popping up on the adds, with a lovely yellow cardy on lol (it's not me, honestly) lol

Jane I can feel that I am walking more upright. smile

Casdon yes it's an online class, via Zoom. I used to attend a group pre-Covid, but I find that I prefer having the class brought to me, as it were, instead of having to leave home. There are many online beginner's classes. I do like a 'live' class, I get bored if I'm just following a recorded video e.g. on YouTube. The live class allows for a bit of socialising too. I find that I look forward to the classes twice a week.

My photo was taken today. I thought I looked quite smart and good for my age until I saw the photo. I was sitting in a slouched position and looked like an old woman. My posture definitely needs correcting but I hadn't heard of the corrector before and don't know a thing about pilates but will have a look into it.

I’m a terrible sloucher too, it comes from too many years hunched over a computer at work. I’ve thought about a posture corrector, but interested in the comments about Pilates - have you been doing it online?

Not facetious at all fevertree. A friend actually complimented me on my posture a few weeks ago & it’s all down to Pilates & Tai Chi.

I'm not being facetious, but ... the posture corrector that has made a huge difference to my posture and the way I carry myself has been an hour of Pilates twice a week (I started in March). My balance is better too. So I shall keep it up.

I thought you're supposed to have an S shape

No, but I’m interested to know more.

I'm aware I slouch and unless I make an effort I'm a bit S-shaped. An advert for a posture corrector often comes up on a reputable website I often use so I clicked on it. The reviews on Amazon, even for cheap ones, were mostly positive. Have any Gransnetters used one?
