Flaky dry skin

granbabies123 apologies for slightly hijacking your post. I’ve had really dry facial skin after showering for a while now and it lingers on my forehead and eyebrows, under my fringe. I’m now wondering if it’s my shampoo, I use Tresemme? I wondered if anyone else has had this and any possible recommendations for another shampoo/conditioner. Thank you.

I suffered for a while with facial dry skin and after spending goodness knows what on creams which did no good at all I stumbled on Simple Cleansing Lotion which I literally washed my face with followed by Superdrug Dry Skin Cream the both of them cost me less than £5 and I have to say they are the best ever my skin has never been so clear and moisturised,well worth a try.

I can sympathise granbabies123. I recently spent 8 days in hospital waiting for a pacemaker. Since then I have had dry skin all over! When I take my clothes off it is like a snow shower. (I know TMI.) I am using E45 shower cream and Cetraban on my body. I bought a very reasonable priced gentle daily exfoliating face wash (Nivea) and am moisturising am and pm. Getting better but still a bit flaky!

have you got dry hair! a sister had that and was given Cetraben cream which cleared it but it kept coming back so her GP gave her Nizoral anti-dandruff shampoo and it eventually cleared up the flaky skin on nose problem.
She was a bit offended when the gp gave her dandruff shampoo as she didn't know she had it but small bits get on your forehead eyebrows and nose without you knowing till the rash comes!!!!! Blepharitis of the eyelashes is caused by dry scalp also!

Granbabies, you’ll have much more success if you exfoliate regularly. Every other night is good for dry skin. If you don’t remove the dead, dry skin on the surface your moisturiser can’t do its job.

For even better results, add a moisturising face mask into your routine too. It will be most effective on freshly exfoliated skin. Apply a good night time moisturiser after removing the mask.

I too have dry skin in all the wrong places, if you know wat I mean. Because I am prone to eczema, I just use Diprobase all over , morning and night. The doctor prescribed it, but you can buy it off the counter as well. It’s basically a moisturiser. E45 is also very good. There’s Aveeno, which is more expensive. Whatever you use , moisturising is absolutely a must......good luck
