Ponds Vanishing Cream

Is the one currently being sold anything like the original? I used to use it as a teenager instead of foundation and it gave a lovely finish.
I thought it was no longer made but just today it popped up in an advert. I am so pale thanks to the travel ban that my age spots are looking prominent so I was wondering if it might help.
Any advice?

I remember using Ponds cold cream is that the same product?

I don't know how you feel about testing on animals, but Ponds are not cruelty free.

I did try some a few years ago and was disappointed that it didn't smell like the one my mother used, which was very light.
There are some pots on Ebay and it is now called 'lasting oil control vanishing cream', so I doubt whether the contents are the same either.

I didn't realise it was still around. I thought it had vanished.

Gosh, I remember my mother using it! I'm a bit wary of what I put on my skin, it seems to rect with all sorts!!

Thanks ladies. Vanishing cream was not the same as cold cream which is oily.
With the vanishing cream I remember it left a flawless matt finish, minimising pores.
I guess I’ll just have to buy it to see for myself.
Any suggestions about products to disguise age spots? I hate foundation cream which highlights every wrinkle.

Vanished ? Love it henetha !

And whilst on the subject...has anyone noticed anti-wrinkle creams don't work as well as they used to ??

Do you mean that that they don't work as well as they did before we had wrinkles? grin

Having only ever seen the name, Ponds Vanishing Cream, I have often wondered what it 'vanished'. Was it some sort of foundation?

I don't think that Boots has ever stopped selling it!
Can't say that it is the same formulation as it used to be but for your age spots, using a moisturiser that includes an SPF (sunscreen) in the formula will help more, I have found. Simple do one, Superdrug have several available and the Body Shop also do a range or buy a cream specifically for age spots there are many available - Nivea have one that I have tried that seems to help.

Funny seeing this,I too had it in my teens,my daughter surprised me with a jar during lock down.I find it is now heavily perfumed,so I use it on my feet !

Use Vitamin C in the morning after shower then apply Sunscreen. At night apply Retinol serum then a thin layer of moisturiser.... Hopefully this should fade your sun damage (dark spots) after using for a while....

You can get tinted moisturiser which works quite well. I also use pure Vitamin E cream most days as a moisturiser. You need to get one from a health food shop as their stuff is normally as pure as it gets. If you use it on age spots they do fade but it takes a long time. My skin isn't very good and it has helped me.
