How do you make long, thick hair, long and sleek, not bushy?

Genevieve489 I can't remember the name of the site but you can get a small bottle of MoroccanOil which would be worth trying first perhaps?
I only need a very small amount so it lasts a long time.

When I had long hair I took a tip from a Spanish hairdresser. When you wash your hair put two big rollers on the crown of your head then wrap the rest of your hair around your head like a giant roller. Let is dry naturally. My frizzy hair always dried straight. It is what the Spanish ladies do. Of course this was before straighteners were invented.

Nothing works on really bushy hair. Just enjoy it, while it lasts.

You will miss it when it disappears in favour of thin old-lady hair.

I would love to have my bushy hair back, but that isn't going to happen.

I have what sounds the same hair OP and it’s about shoulder length. The only thing that works for me is straighteners and serum (not too much) on dry hair. I do get lots of compliments though so the hard work is worth it.

Thanks all for your help, much appreciated. I've been looking at the Babylis brush video, Riverwalk and it looks really good. May well buy that. I have tried Frizz Eaze, but haven't had much success with it. Yes, my hairdresser told me the same thing, Dee1012 about the length holding it down, but not sure if it's really true! I have also got hair straighteners, but can never get the straightness and polish that the hairdresser gets - don't know why as they're ghd, so supposed to be the best. I'll be having a look at Olaplex and Moroccan Oil as well, Dee1012, so thank you for suggesting those.

I also had a heated brush and didn’t find it any good at all for my hair,which is thick and wiry so sent it back and got a refund now I just stick with my GHD‘s ......

My hair tends to frizz now. Rather than conditioner, I use a hair mask, which is thicker and seems to calm it down more. I sometimes use Frizz Eaze products, too.

Moroccanoil is great and you only need a small amount, another good product is Olaplex (although quite expensive).
I find the Ultimate Blends Shampoo works for me...trial and much error as my hair has always been very thick and frizzy, in fact it's thickened more as I've got older.
A hairdresser did tell me to keep some length to it once as the weight "helps keep it down", not sure if that makes sense but I used to have layers which needed daily straightening! Since growing them out, it's been easier to manage.

Otherwise I have found that using shampoos and conditioners containing keratin and making sure you change to shampoos and conditioners are for dry hair.
I also found that I have to make sure that my hair is properly dry after washing helps.

I have a Babyliss roller brush but it curls it too much.

That's why I've kept mine short for years.

It's now in a short bob, looks ok for about half an hour after washing, straightening then pings off again in all directions.

A friend with long thick bushy hair uses something like this - think it's used on dry hair, and certainly gives a straight polished finish.

There'll be a video somewhere on how to use it properly

My hair is the same Genevieve489, and I’ve never found any product that works, if it’s got a natural wave and is a bit frizzy like mine the only thing to try is hair straighteners, but it’s a pain to have to do that every day.
