Most nourishing face creams

Dove rich nourishment cream (in small blue n white tub) is the only one that keeps my skin moisturised all day - how did I get so wrinkly? Can get it in cheapy shops

I got a wee pot of Astral in a Christmas goody hamper , it used to be too rich for me once upon a time and gave me spots . But now , 20 years later my skin gobbled it up in glee and feels really soft and comfortable .

Get thee to Aldi! They have a moisturising gel , in a pink pot, a dupe of Clarins Moisture Surge FOR £30 POUNDS CHEAPER!!!!Lovely stuff, then I top it with Rosehip oil , usually Trilogy ( good enough for K Middleton good enough for me!

FannyCornforth it’s been around a long time, and I’ve used it for about 15 years I think. I put it on about half an hour before my night moisturiser, it’s strange because it’s not greasy, but makes your skin feel soft immediately. It seems to keep the moisture locked in my skin for longer. It has a dispenser in the bottle so you don’t need much, a big bottle lasts me for a year. Hope that helps.

Can anyone advise an eye cream? I have one eye lid which gets very dry and itchy. I have been using vaseline on it in a thin layer and that helps but doesn't clear it. The other eye lid is fine. I use simple cleansing wipes on my face and E45 cream - never soap and water.

I find that eye make up remover makes my eyes sore ( even though I rarely wear make up these days). I used to use Simple cream eye make up remover but they no longer sell it. Just their liquid version which is supposed to be gentle on eyes but makes mine sore. Does anyone know of another cream eye make up remover? Most of them seem to be liquid ones.

Gagagra. I sometimes put hydrocortisone cream on my eyelids if they get sore. I know you have to be careful round the eye area but I think (from memory: I need to double check) HC45 is ok. Also golden eye ointment occasionally.

Having read this I realised I hadn’t been putting moisturiser on my face at night recently so I mixed up some protect and perfect serum with 8 hour cream last night and slapped it on. It does seem to plump my skin up. I also now wear sun block on my face all the time as my skin was going very leathery.

Other than Botox or stopping frowning in a baffled way, of course.
It could be Gransnet, FannyC - it does have a tendency to make one frown in a baffled way

I tried putting steristrips overnight on that annoying little crease many years ago when it worried me, but I don't really care any more.

Aveeno is nice and light and well absorbed.

Thank you all so much give your suggestions, I gave tried most if them including Serum from Boots, which hadn't made much difference, absorbed straight away and skin still feels tight. I succumbed yesterday and bought vitamin c serum and moisturiser from Boots. If this doesn't work I might try the e45 dry skin cream or Aveeno as all the moisutisers smell of perfume and I'm beginning to think that's what I don't get on with. In fact I might even try Astral or Nivea, as it's silly the amount I've spent over the last few years with no results. Definitely going to drink more water and try the egg white. Thank you

I use Elemis - expensive in shops, but I buy it from QVC and take advantage of their easy pay system.

Well, opening this thread was a disappointment. I misread the title as Most Nourishing Ice Creams. I was hoping scientists had made a wonderful breakthrough and I was going to read that my guilty secret cornetto was good for me !

I always use a vitamin c serum and a hyaluronic acid serum before applying a face moisturiser. My skin is very dry, but the serum has helped it. I have tried many different face creams over the years from rather expensive to super cheap, I found no difference, so now I look on line and buy any that are for dry skin over 50 age and cheap!!

My daughter put me on Jason's Vitamin E Moisturising cream. Think it cost about £11, but a little goes a long way. Ceertainly worth a try.

I have been using Highborn moisturiser and eye serum for about 3 years now. The moisturiser feels light but really works. Products are all natural and the company donates a percentage of profit to Breast Cancer Research. Not the cheapest or extortionate prices. Seems to last for ages.

Eye make up removal -micellar water is good

Another vote for Nivea Soft for day and Blue for night. Cheap as chips and helps make (my) skin amazing.

Never needed creams when i was younger, but now im almost 58 decided to use a bit in winter, as my skin had got a bit dry with having heating on- gave Estée Lauder a try, (expensive, but in Debenhams sale!) But it seemed dryer still! Have decided I'll try good old Nivea, it was good enough for my late mum& gran, and they too had good skin.(my gran had smooth almost wrinkle- free skin till she died, in her 80's!) Good younger skin runs in our family though i think, so we are lucky.

The name of the game is exfoliate.

Maybee70- my mum used to use golden eye ointment if she,(or we) got a stye on the eye, but when i got one (think it was last year) chemist said it doesn't exist anymore! I had to ring Dr and he had to prescribe antibac eye cream. I was annoyed, because golden eye ointment was good stuff, & useful to keep in medicine box.
