I had to shield but have started to emerge and have been in a few shops.
I went for a walk today and looked down. My shoes look like a tramp's and my trousers have definitely seen better days. It didn't help that they were covered in fur from our long haired cat. I felt such a mess.
In normal circumstances I would just go and get a train to Liverpool or Chester but don't feel brave enough.

I won`t be going in any shops other than grocery ones.
Especially with this Indian covid strain.
Putting mysef in lockdown for as long as i see fit.

why not buy on line?

The normal 20:80 rule of the proportion of wearing the clothes that we own has, for me, shrunk to 5:95 during lockdown.

This has made me take stock of the whole clothes buying thing. If I never bought anything new again, I'd probably be able to wear something different each day for the next 3 years - my bad, I've got mountains of the things.

So, I've decided to take a clothes buying sabbatical and use the money I would have spent on clothes to spend on experiences instead.

Yes! My new shoes from M&S are very smart. I've not looked properly at their summer stock but just walking past it on the way to the food hall I saw at least 5 items I want to look at in more detail. They were in styles, colours and fabrics I liked the look of. Things looking up for M&S?

My wardrobes have plenty of clothes in them, just several years old! No desire to go clothes shopping, nothing to do with Covid, just not interested in buying ‘stuff’.

Must get rid of some. Just wear the usual, day after day.

Yes I went the day after the shops opened to buy summer shoes . I was unsuccessful but got some online the following week , having tried a brand in John Lewis that was new to me .
I don’t need anything else .

I've bought two pairs of shoes online from Keith Scarrot, Cheltenham. they are quick to send and I love their styles. I've also bought a jumpsuit and two dresses from White stuff, again online. they don't charge for returns. I have lived in jeans/leggings and tops during lock down and wanted something new to look forward to wearing as soon as we could get out and about again. I really like to buy online as I can take my time trying the clothes on with different shoes etc. I may be in my 70's but I still want to look as good as I can.

Yes to the Trafford Centre on a couple of occasions and actually enjoyed the experiences. Strange in itself for me!

I bought some summer sandals from Clarks today. The shop was well spaced out and I got to try them on (given some pop socks). Also I have 28 days to take them back.

why not buy on line?

Shoes are my main problem as my feet are a bit difficult and I need to try them on. I used to be able to buy Hotter 6.5 and know they would fit but then they changed things.

I certainly don't need any clothes. I'll be buying a pair of summer shoes/ sandals online---when the weather picks up.

Point taken, I wasn’t thinking of shoes( although you did mention them). Could you go to a local town or shopping centre, as I understand why you may not want to travel by train just now.My daughter has travelled by train and said there wasn’t much social distancing.

Yes. I bought a linen dress from Seasalt online.
No bother. Lovely colour.
