Foundation for mature skin

Rimmel foundation and their skincare range is great for sensitive skin and it’s cheap enough to buy the whole range without breaking the bank.

Having tried many brands over the years I’ve settled on L’Oreal True Match ultra blendable with hyalaloric acid. It’s under a tenner, sold everywhere even the supermarket and beats the expensive brands every time. It’s liquid in a pump bottle, big range of colours, lightweight on the skin, good coverage without being thick and cakes and lasts all day without needing touch ups. You can powder over it with translucent loose powder or leave it as it is. Can’t recommend it enough. My skin is dry to normal, fair, and I use colour Rose Beige.

At the cheaper end of the price scale, I quite like Phoera foundation, available from Amazon. It somehow manages full coverage (whatever that means exactly) and to be lightweight.

I'm a bit late coming into the make up stage (66) and have been using the jml mineral magic powder.

But really need something a lot better and not as dry.

Been looking at the Bare minerals. But how do you choose a shade that compliments your skin.

I can't afford to waste £sss trying to find the right colour.

I don't think they have testers in stores these days.

I meant to say early that application of a primer before f9undation makes a better base so foundation stays nice and smooth I have just ordered my next pot of Smooth Start by Clarins.

I use IT cosmetics cc creme ,its light and looks great on.I have it in 2 shades a darker one in summer a light for winter skin and apply it with a brush .I wouldn't put my bins out without my makeup on and I can keep this natural looking or ramp it up for evening .

I don’t wear foundation, don’t like the look or feel of it and think it’s ageing. Very occasionally I use M&S Formula BB cream which is like a tinted moisturiser. And a touch of concealer if necessary.

I love the Tom Ford stick foundation.
Anytime l have shown up at my son’s house wearing it his girlfriend has said
“oh wow you look lovely” as if she’s shocked that l look different and better with makeup.
Only because it’s like an old fashioned pan stick (if your old enough to remember it) and it covers with a lovely silky moisture that makes my skin tone even all over.
It’s £64 but to me it’s worth it for when I need a special lift.

Look Fabulous Forever! Every one of their products specifically for older skin. All brilliant. I use their eye and lip primes to stop makeup going into the creases and they last all day. Face primer keeps their wonderful foundations/bb creams in position all day too. Would not use anything else.

Some might say on the expensive side but you get real worth with your money.

I use Pure BB tinted moisturiser in fair shade for all day use its very good and can be bought in most Supermarkets I buy mine in Home & Bargain it is the cheapest I have seen but just because it is cheap does not retract from how good it is it comes in 3 shades to suit your colouring.

I use L’Oréal and they have a new foundation containing serum as well.

I find most foundations too heavy so I mix my moisturiser with my foundation then apply. Works for me ?

I also recommend Bare Minerals, I love all their products but complexion rescue is one of the best.

Bobbi Brown has a new foundation which includes serum- I'm going to try that next time. Currently I use their Skin Foundation SPF 15 which is nice and light almost like a tinted moisturiser...glides on and stays nicely all day without clogging or running into the creases.

I like Bare Minerals complexion rescue - very light and easy to apply. It’s cheaper to buy it online, from places like Look Fantastic.
